The Cleveland Cavaliers are having a dream run this season. On Tuesday, March 11, the Cavs secured their 15th straight win, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 109-104.
Darius Garland, the Cavs’ lead scorer in the game, was thrilled with the team’s continued success. However, it was the loyal and enthusiastic Cavs fans who truly stole the spotlight with their unwavering support. Garland felt humbled by the deafening cheers as Cleveland matched its longest winning streak in franchise history at 15 games.
Darius Garland Feels Humbled by Unwavering Fan Support
Kenny Atkinson’s squad has been absolutely dominant this season. They sit atop the Eastern Conference with an impressive 55-10 record, having lost just once in their last 20 games.
Fresh off a commanding 112-100 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, March 9, the Cavs returned home to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse as the heavy favorites. As expected, they delivered another victory, with Garland leading the charge, dropping 30 points, four rebounds, and eight assists.
Fans erupted in celebration, their deafening roars echoing through the arena. Their excitement was a testament to the loyalty they’ve shown through the ups and downs of the franchise. Garland, a two-time NBA All-Star, took a moment to acknowledge their support:
“They’re the best,” Garland said, pausing as the Cavaliers crowd continued to cheer. “I love them. They’re the best fans in the league by far. They’re literally our sixth man. They get us the comeback wins.”

The Cavaliers’ current success is reminiscent of their peak during LeBron James’ tenure. Notably, the 2008-09 season saw Cleveland finish with a franchise-best 66-16 record, which included a 13-game winning streak.
Kenny Atkinson Asserts Cavs Won’t Slow Down
The Cavs have emerged as serious championship contenders this season, thanks in large part to head coach Atkinson. His relentless push has propelled the team to the top of the Eastern Conference. But the head coach has no plans to slow down—he wants his team to keep grinding until they bring home their second NBA title.
After Cleveland’s win over Milwaukee, Atkinson shared his thoughts on the team’s mindset:
“I think we’re still hungry. We’re hungry because we know what’s coming. We know, playoff-wise, we still have another level to get to. Another round to get to at least. . . When you still have that hunger.. We still have the edge because we haven’t gotten to the mountaintop yet. We can’t be on cruise control. We gotta keep improving. Keep our playoff focus—we can’t wait till the end to do that, so testement to the guys to keeping that edge,” Atkinson said.
"We're still hungry."
