Four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry has been giving opposing defenses nightmares for the better part of his decorated 16-year NBA career, and it was no different for Houston in Game 1. During this opening-round playoff bout, Curry buried one of the most ridiculous shots NBA fans have seen. While Curry has displayed his incredible shot-making ability many times before, he might’ve outdone himself with this one.
Midway through the 3rd, with the shot clock winding down and tenacious defense by Jalen Green, the 2x MVP got to his spot using an array of moves and nailed the incredible triple heard across the Sports world. TNT play-by-play announcer, Kevin Harlan, hilariously described it as: “Geometrically, that should not have happened!”
Curry Makes an Honest Admission About Viral 3-Pointer
With the Golden State Warriors up 1-0 in the series, Curry sat down with Jim Rome to give some insight on his internet-breaking 3-pointer from his NBA playoffs opener.

Curry details his level of amazement to Jim Rome after hitting jaw-dropping shots like these. Athletes as great as Steph spend countless hours practicing, training and honing their skills to be able to perform under the brightest lights in the NBA Playoffs.
The Warriors superstar sheds some light on this by adding, “I take the shot because I think I’m going to make it,” showcasing a level of confidence that has propelled Stephen Curry to the greatest heights. But, it seems even the best of the best can wow themselves as Curry explains — “I do surprise myself at times.”
Does Curry Have An Encore In Store For Game 2?
Stephen Curry and the Warriors will lace them up again in Toyota Center for a Game 2 showdown against a hungry Rockets team vying to even up the series. Curry in Game 1, poured in 31 points, six rebounds and five 3-pointers made.
His ability to stretch the defense with his outside-shooting provided a huge boost in the Warriors being victorious. Although the Rockets did hold the Warriors under 100 points in the opening game, slowing down Steph and the Dubs’ 3-point barrage could be the key difference in Game 2.
Teams with a 2-0 lead have gone on to win the series 92.3% of the time. This could spell bad news for the Rockets if Steph Curry and Golden State gets hot from deep again in Game 2. Look for head coach of the Rockets, Ime Udoka, and his staff to switch up some of Houston’s defensive coverages so Steph doesn’t send social media into a frenzy once again with his 3-point marksmanship.
