‘Sold the Game’ – LeBron James Gets Ripped Apart by Fans After Lakers’ Embarrassing Loss vs. Bulls

LeBron James has hardly ever been the direct cause of his team’s loss, but he was last night for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Chicago Bulls miraculously marched back from a five-point deficit to win by two thanks to a buzzer-beating midcourt shot by Josh Giddey. However, it’s fair to say that the Bulls wouldn’t have gotten into that position had it not been for James’ late-game errors. While fans mostly praised the Bulls’ comeback, others were quick to throw some jabs at James.

LeBron James Gets Majority Of The Blame

The Bulls won the game because they hit three three-pointers in 12 seconds, but also because of the Lakers’ mistakes. At the forefront was James, who left Patrick Williams wide open to hit the first three, which then led to a bad pass that Giddey intercepted and passed to Coby White, who also hit a wide-open three.

Some fans called out James’ actions during the game’s closing seconds. One fan named “Q” called out James for his mistakes while questioning what was going through James’ head when everything was happening.

“LeBron sold the game,” the fan wrote. “Not guarding his guy on the 3 and Terrible out of bounds pass. Idk what he was thinking,” criticizing his decision making at the end of the game.

Another fan named “arch-O-tect” made a sarcastic comment at James’ expense, writing, “LeBron should get an assist.”

Another fan questioned why James wasn’t getting called out for his mistakes, writing “How come nobody is captioning this with, ‘a disastrous pass by LeBron blows the game’ Last night everyone loved his buzzer beater, let’s keep the same energy when he blows it.”

4x NBA Champ Makes Rare Mistake vs. Bulls

Throughout his 22-year NBA career, it hasn’t been like James to have the gaffes he did during this Lakers-Bulls game. Typically, James is the one player who knows exactly what he’s doing and makes the right play.

In his defense, he probably thought the game was already over, as most games usually are when a team is up five with 12 seconds to go. Some games do flip on their head in the same fashion that the Lakers-Bulls game did, and more often than not, one particular player is to blame.

With James’ reputation as one of the NBA’s best players of all time, there’s more spotlight on him no matter what happens. So when he makes consecutive mistakes leading to his team losing, his critics will quickly point them out.

The LA-based franchise will face the Grizzlies next in Memphis. It will be a crucial game for the 17x champs, as they sit just behind their upcoming opponents at 4th seed. A loss could take them down, and a win will not bring them above the Nuggets but will definitely help their fixtures in the playoffs.
