LeBron James’ Wife Savannah James Opens Up on Her Struggles Fighting Through Identity Crisis

The journey of motherhood is never easy, but for Savannah James, it was even more overwhelming. As the wife of NBA superstar LeBron James, she had to navigate not only raising two sons at a young age but also finding herself beyond the role of a mother.

In a deeply personal moment, Savannah opened up about the struggles of losing her own identity while raising her children.

Savannah James Gets Candid Over Struggles Of Motherhood

In the latest episode of her Everybody’s Crazy! podcast with longtime friend April McDaniel, Savannah took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the challenges she faced as a young mother. She became a mom at just 18 when she gave birth to Bronny James, then had their second son, Bryce, at 20. By 28, she welcomed their youngest, Zhuri Nova.

But despite the blessings, the weight of motherhood wasn’t easy to carry. Savannah admitted that raising two boys, especially, took everything she had—so much so that she lost sight of herself outside of being a mother.

“I also had my first child young, I was 18 when I had him, and then I had another baby at 20, and then another at 28,” Savannah shared. “But with the boys, especially, it was really hard for me to find an identity outside of motherhood. I felt like that is where my identity was supposed to be, so I just kind of put all the eggs into that basket.”

She poured everything into her children, making sure they had the love, guidance, and support they needed—sometimes at the cost of her own sense of self.

James Always Puts Her Family First

While Savannah once struggled with her own identity, she never wavered in her role as a mother. Like their father, Bronny and Bryce James are making their mark in the basketball world, and Savannah is their biggest cheerleader.

Just recently, Bronny had a career-best performance with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, scoring an incredible 39 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Shooting 14-of-21 from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, he made a strong statement about his potential.

The next day, SportsCenter reported that Bronny had become the youngest player in G League history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in a season.

And who was the proudest person in the world at that moment? His mom.

Savannah couldn’t hold back her pride, reposting the achievement on her Instagram story with a simple yet powerful caption:

“Tuh,” followed by, “Keep smiling 9!!!”

It was a small but heartfelt message—one that perfectly captured the love and support she has for her son.
