Should you draft RJ Barrett in fantasy basketball this year? Latest fantasy projection for the Toronto Raptors Shooting Guard

It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.

Should you draft RJ Barrett this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Toronto Raptors Shooting Guard.

Should You Draft RJ Barrett in Fantasy Basketball?

RJ Barrett has enjoyed a career-best offensive stint during his first one and a half seasons with the Raptors, improving as a downhill scorer and playmaker for the rebuilding squad. However, with the team getting healthy and integrating Brandon Ingram into a featured offensive role, it is looking to be more competitive in the 2025-26 season, raising questions about Barrett’s fit.

While Barrett averaged a team-high 21.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game while shooting a solid 46.8% from the field last season, he remains a below-average 3-point shooter (35.0%) and free-throw shooter (63.0%). As such, Toronto may need to add more spacing to a starting five that already includes two non-perimeter threats in Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl.

The 2019 No. 3 pick’s shooting limitations and high turnover count (2.8 tpg) make him most effective in points leagues. Between that and his murky offensive role on the new-look Raptors, Barrett could fall into the later rounds in category formats.
