NBA Fans Laud Kevin Durant’s Offensive Mastery Against Magic

Despite Orlando being without its top player, Paolo Banchero, due to a left groin strain, Houston started slow, digging itself an early 14-point hole. However, the Rockets continued battling all night, overcoming an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit behind Durant and his co-star Alperen Şengün’s late-game offensive brilliance.

Trailing 94-92 with 2:50 remaining in the final frame, Şengün found Durant near the top of the arc for a contested go-ahead 3-pointer over Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr.

After some back and forth, Houston found itself behind 100-97 with time winding down, prompting Durant to cross over Carter and drill a game-tying step-back triple with 21.4 seconds left.

A botched inbounds play with the score knotted up at 100-100 with 5.3 seconds remaining later required Şengün to force overtime on a buzzer-beating hook shot. That set the stage for Durant to shine in the final seconds of the extra period.

The two-time NBA champion took Orlando forward Tristan da Silva off the dribble and cashed a pull-up midrange jumper to give the Rockets a 113-110 advantage with 9.3 seconds to go, which ultimately proved to be the deciding basket.

Following the thrilling ending, fans took to X to give Durant his flowers.

“Can’t guard him,” one fan said.

    “He’s still him,” another wrote.

“KD middy is a master,” one user exclaimed.

“That’s why he’s called easy money,” another remarked.

“That’s why you go out and get a Kevin Durant,” one asserted, referencing Houston’s blockbuster offseason trade for the 2014 MVP.

Additionally, a few fans made bold declarations about Durant.

“He’s better than LeBron [James] I stg,” one fan claimed.

    “MVP,” another opined.

Durant finished with a game-high 35 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two 3s on 13-for-24 shooting (54.2%). Meanwhile, Şengün chipped in 30 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and two blocks, despite struggling from the field (11-for-31, 35.5%).

On top of their four-game winning streak, the Rockets have won nine of their last 10 games since starting the season 0-2, improving to 9-3. They will look to extend their victory run to five games during Wednesday’s road clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-5).
