Early in 2025, the University of Washington Medical Center performed his life-saving transplant. The donor, Seattle resident Shane Cleveland, responded to a call for help displayed at a Huskies football game, inspired by his wife Kara’s own donor experience.

“I got this guy right here to thank for [my kidney],” Robinson said. “Some people don’t get to meet their guardian angels. I got a brother in mine.” Robinson voice cracked as he fought back tears and wrapped Cleveland in a tight hug on camera.
“Mine is my brother, man. He helped me a lot, big time. I was struggling and he came through in the clutch,” he added, tears welling as they shared the spotlight together.
