WATCH: Luka Dončić Goes Viral for Hilarious On-Court Moment With Suns’ Oso Ighodaro

Luka Dončić has a pretty good sense of humor, it seems. The Los Angeles Lakers star will take any chance he can to ensure his team wins, and he did just that during his recent win over the Phoenix Suns.

Dončić had a humorous interaction with Suns big man Oso Ighodaro while the game was taking place.

Luka Dončić Tried To Slap Ighodaro’s Shoe Out of His Hand

In a clip shared by Lakers All Day Everyday’s X account, Dončić tried to slap the shoe out of Ighodaro’s hands after the Lakers scored. Ultimately, Dončić failed, but it still made for a good laugh.

For what it’s worth, what Dončić did isn’t exactly new. Far from it. NBA players have been making this sort of gesture toward their opponents for decades. If a player has the chance to inconvenience his opponent through his footwear, he will take it. That can range from slapping it out of his hands to untying it at the free throw line to outright throwing it into the stands.

Of course, it’s annoying for the players to deal with, but it’s also hilarious and harmless in the grand scheme of things. Dončić was doing this more to be funny than to be a pest. Or perhaps he wanted to be both.

The irony is that this may not have had much to do with the shoe itself as much as it had to do with Dončić being the one who did it. He’s one of the biggest names in the NBA, playing for one of the most popular NBA franchises. If he does something unorthodox during a game, the public will know about it.

Los Angeles Lakers Put Away Phoenix Suns

It did not affect the game in any meaningful capacity, as Los Angeles handled its business against the Suns at home, winning 107-96. The win improved the Lakers to 41-25, helping them hold the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference. With LeBron James out for at least another week, they’ll take any win they can get.

With 16 games left this season, the Lakers have to take advantage of every matchup possible. Without James, climbing higher in the standings will be tougher, but having Dončić around gives them hope even without the four-time NBA champion beside him.

If the Lakers are going to win another title, they’ll do anything to reach the top, no matter how many shoes it takes.
