After the game, Lakers legend (and Basketball Hall of Famer) James Worthy spoke about Bronny.

Worthy (via Spectrum SportsNet, h/t Lakers Daily): “I thought this may have been Bronny’s best game of his NBA career.”

A lot of fans commented on Worthy’s statement.

@FameYNO: “easily. played stella defense , didn’t panick on offense and was seeing the floor like a experience PG. he’s been very valuable in his minutes”

@HassanAhmedddd_: “there’s a solid role player in there – solid handling and a good defender, if his 3 point output improves year on year & most importantly decision making i see the vision”

@ImAureus: “Im gonna keep repeating this, any other 55th pick being a solid rotational piece and showing this growth would be celebrated but because hes lebrons son if he doesnt average 20/5/5 hes “bronny the bust””

@LE_BANDO: “Besides a few iffy plays he showed out today good defense and gave some good looks”

Bronny is now averaging 1.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 18.2% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range in five games.

Via @LSH_lakeshow: “Bronny James vs Trail Blazers : 19 minutes 5 PTS 6 AST 1 3PT 1 REB 1 STL That 3rd quarter stint he had hustling on both ends of the floor I felt like changed the game completely for the Lakers, they took back the lead and never looked back. The little things Bronny does on the floor doesn’t show up in the box score and that is okay. His feel to the game is growing more and more as each game passes by, especially on the defensive end. Having a mentor like Marcus Smart has been so huge for him.”

The Lakers are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 6-2 record in eight games.

They will return home to host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

As for Worthy, he spent all 12 years of his NBA career playing for the Lakers.

He made seven All-Star Games (and helped the franchise win three NBA Championships).
