LeBron James made a cryptic statement regarding playing for Team USA at the 2028 Olympics. In 2024, James returned to Team USA for the Olympics after 12 years of skipping the event.
The question on everyone’s mind now is whether James will play for Team USA in the next Olympics.

LeBron James Might Play for Team USA in 2028 Olympics
In a recent trailer of James’ podcast with Steve Nash, ‘Mind the Game’, the NBA legends, alongside their guest Stephen Curry, looked back at the 2024 Olympics held in Paris. James and Curry shared stories of what happened behind the scenes and on the court.
Nash then pointed out that the 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles and asked whether James and Curry, both of whom play for teams based in California, would participate.
The Los Angeles Lakers star then subtly confirmed his attendance by giving Nash an open-ended response.
“You already know my answer,” James said.
If you thought part 1 was good, part 2 is even better.

While James’ response could go either way, the way he said it made it seem like he could participate in the event. However, it’s worth noting that the Lakers star is turning 41 this December.
By the time the 2028 Olympics occur, James will be 43. As of now, he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down on the hardwood; however, James has hinted at retirement several times recently.
Having that in mind, we can’t say for sure if James would still be able to play for Team USA in 2028.
If the Lakers star decides otherwise, while it may come off as a bummer to some, his final appearance in the 2024 Olympics might’ve been the perfect send-off already. James was named the men’s basketball MVP in Paris. To add the icing on the cake, he also led Team USA to a Gold Medal victory over France. Seems like the perfect way to spend your last Olympic event.
Throughout the 2024 Olympics, James averaged 14.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 6.8 rebounds per game. While it was pretty low compared to the numbers he puts up in the NBA, keep in mind he played alongside other superstars like Curry and Kevin Durant.
