If there’s one player who knows how to stir up chaos, it’s Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green. But this time, Los Angeles Lakers fans say he took things too far.
In a tense Thursday (April 3) night showdown with playoff implications, Green clashed with LeBron James on a fast break, sending the Lakers star crashing hard to the floor after a swatting motion caught James’ shoulder mid-air. With James just recently back from a groin injury, Laker Nation erupted fearing yet another setback.
Draymond’s Play Ignites Twitter Firestorm
As James attacked the rim for a layup, Green rose to contest, but instead of a clean block, his hand slammed down onto James’ upper body, causing an awkward, painful-looking fall. James needed help getting up, and while he continued playing, the moment instantly shifted the game’s mood.
“I need Draymond Green arrested IMMEDIATELY,” one outraged fan posted, echoing the fury that soon spread across social media.

Others accused Green of doing what he always does, skating the line between aggressive and reckless.
“Bro wtf is he playing football?!” one user tweeted, reacting to the sheer force of the play.
Another fan wasn’t buying the common foul narrative, commenting: “They calling that a common foul? Give me a f***ing break. That was intentional with no play on the ball and contact at the head/neck area.”
Warriors Snap Losing Streak
Golden State ultimately took the 123-116 win, snapping a 3-game season losing streak against the Lakers and keeping their hold on the No. 5 seed at 45-31. Stephen Curry exploded for 37 points, while Brandin Podziemski dropped 28 points with a career-high eight 3-pointers.
Draymond Green had 8 points, 5 assists, and 11 rebounds, but his defensive play on the NBA veteran is all anyone’s talking about.
“He immediately was like ‘I’m sorry, my King,’” one fan joked, hinting at the awkward aftermath.
The Lakers, now 46-30, drop to the 4th seed with six games left against a brutal lineup including OKC (twice), Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets. James led the way with 33 points and passed 11,000 career points as a Laker, becoming the 10th in franchise history to do so, but even that milestone was overshadowed with the crushing defeat.
“Dirtiest player in the entire NBA,” one furious tweet read. “Arrest him rn, always hitting everyone,” one fan summed up the frustration.
Meanwhile, Warriors fans celebrated the road win, their first in LA in over a year. But Lakers fans? They’re just hoping James’ fall doesn’t mean another setback. With the postseason around the corner, the margin for error is gone and they can’t afford another injury.
