The NBA free agency market continues to heat up, and point guard Ryan Rollins is quickly becoming a hot commodity. Last season, he quietly delivered a breakout performance when injuries hit the Milwaukee Bucks’ roster.
The 23-year-old free agent has reportedly drawn interest from several teams across the league. Alongside the Bucks, four additional franchises are viewing Rollins as a low-risk, high-upside candidate who could develop into a long-term asset.

Lakers, Four Other NBA Teams Target Free Agent Point Guard Ryan Rollins
Ryan Rollins may not be a household name yet, but he is starting to make his presence felt around the NBA. The former second-round pick has shown steady growth and maturity since entering the league. Last season, he quietly had the best year of his career while playing for the Bucks.
Although Rollins averaged 6.2 points per game over the full season, those numbers do not tell the full story. When injuries hit the Bucks’ backcourt, head coach Doc Rivers made the bold choice to start Rollins over veteran Delon Wright. In his 19 starts, Rollins responded with averages of 10.2 points per game and shot an impressive 45.2% from 3-point range.

Drafted 44th overall in 2022, Rollins appeared in 56 games last season. In just 14.6 minutes per game, he averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. More importantly, teams around the league took notice of his improved efficiency. He shot 48.7% from the field and 40.8% from deep, showing real progress as a shooter.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, several teams are interested in adding Rollins to their rosters. The Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Lakers are all keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old guard.
Each franchise is looking for young, affordable talent to improve their backcourt, and Rollins fits that profile well.
I’m ashamed of myself for being this late on the RYAN ROLLINS train.
Usually these are the exact type of moneyball, hipster guys I’m already keyed in on.

In addition to his shooting, Rollins has shown flashes of defensive potential. With a 6’10” wingspan, he can guard multiple positions and disrupt passing lanes. His ability to defend and hit open shots makes him a valuable piece in today’s NBA. Plus, he is very young.
So, every team with financial flexibility is showing serious interest in him, but the Bucks’ name on the list is the most surprising. Although the Bucks rescinded Rollins’ qualifying offer to create additional salary cap space, they still retain his early bird rights.
That means they can re-sign him even if they are over the salary cap, and reports indicate they remain interested in bringing him back.
