ā€˜I’m One of the Best of All-Time!’ – Kyrie Irving Has Hilarious Reaction to His Own NBA Highlight Reel

Kyrie Irving might be out with an ACL tear, but that does not seem to have dampened his confidence, as he took it to a whole new level, albeit off the court. While reacting to his own highlight reel, the Dallas Mavericks star let loose with a mix of raw emotion, humor, and swagger.

A viral video shows Irving laughing and reflecting on his own greatness in a way only Irving could. While gradually recovering from the ACL injury, he seems more connected to his legacy than ever, and he’s not holding back.

Kyrie Irving Marvels at His Own Heroics

The video was shared by Kyrie Centre on X and it quickly caught fire. It gave fans a rare look at the nine-time All-Star, watching himself with childlike joy and unfiltered honesty. As Irving watched a reel of his own greatest hits, his reaction became the headline.

“He yoo Immmm be 1000% with y’all bro. You, I am one of the best m********* of all time, bro. Oh my God. Like, but this is easy for me, dog. I am so grateful, bro, I am so grateful,” he says in the video.

Irving’s words came out in a stream of laughter and awe, bouncing between humility and full-blown self-belief. In one of the clips, he slashed through defenders on a fast break and laid it in with surgical precision. Watching it back, he couldn’t help but shake his head and say, “I am f***** problem.”

Then came the moment when he reacted to one of his defensive plays.

“I saw Al Horford about to jump, but once I saw him commit on the right side of the basket, I said, I am gonna try some sh**.” Irving leaped, timed it perfectly, and swatted the shot.

“I used to practice in my backyard,” he said with a smile, reminding fans that even the most unreal talent starts somewhere ordinary.

Irving’s season was cut short in March when he tore his ACL during a game against the Sacramento Kings. Driving into the paint, he landed awkwardly after stepping on Jonas ValančiÅ«nas’ foot. Though clearly in pain, Irving stayed in to shoot his free throws, drawing comparisons to great Kobe Bryant.

He underwent successful surgery on March 26, officially ending his 2024-25 campaign. Before the injury, Irving was averaging 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 47.3% from the field and over 91% from the free-throw line, which speaks highly of skills.

The Mavericks went 11-21 without him and finished 10th in the West with a 39-43 record. The franchise had already shocked the NBA world by trading Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the season, and Irving’s absence only made things worse.

Still, Irving has never needed a team’s record to measure his greatness.

The No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft has built a resume few can rival. He was the 2012 Rookie of the Year, a nine-time All-Star, and the MVP of the 2014 All-Star Game.

His most iconic moment came in 2016, when he drained the game-winning 3-pointer in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, lifting the Cleveland Cavaliers to a historic 3-1 comeback over the Golden State Warriors. Many consider him the most skilled ball-handler in league history, and Irving has proven them right on multiple occasions.
