Kevin Durant Reveals 1 Major Regret From Earlier in His NBA Career

Kevin Durant took a trip down memory lane and realized that he regrets a decision he made several years ago. Durant is viewed by many as one of the greatest scorers of the modern era. He won back-to-back titles and Finals MVPs with the Golden State Warriors, defeating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the process.

Durant does not appreciate being placed under the limelight and has done his best to remain “behind the scenes.” While the Rockets star may have achieved career accomplishments, not much is known about Durant’s feelings toward some of the earlier acts he committed in the past.

What Does Kevin Durant Want To Undo From His Past?

Despite being one of the most experienced and accomplished veterans in the league, Durant is no different from the rest of us in terms of taste and preference. Some veteran fans may recall that Durant once appeared in a 2012 comedy movie called “Thunderstruck,” which follows the intertwined lives of a high school student and Durant, who was then still playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Although the movie did not turn out to be a blockbuster, it was still an opportunity for Durant to try his hand at acting and a new experience in itself. However, the two-time NBA champion acknowledged that taking on such a “lame” role limited his acting potential and was somewhat of a regret.

“Kids still come up to me and say, ‘I enjoyed that movie.’ It was so cheesy that you like it. So corny that it was good… If I could do it over again, I would not do it, or I would do something way cooler than that.”

Durant added that portraying a gangster or kingpin would be a role he’d enjoy tackling. The Rockets star hinted the same by saying it would be very cool to fire a gun at someone in the context of making a good movie.

Most NBA players are primarily recognized for their on-court skills, and acting in a basketball-themed movie is often seen as one of the best ways to connect with fans.

Stars such as Michael Jordan and LeBron James have also had success playing themselves in films. While it might be intriguing to see them try other genres of acting, it’s unlikely to happen. Either way, fans are left wondering whether Durant will ever get the chance to take on more challenging and engaging roles in the future.
