Jimmy Butler III’s Update After Injury Scare

Butler had the incident take place during the first half of the contest. He crashed down onto his hip on the hardwood following a flagrant foul from Micah Peavy. He showcased discomfort but returned to his power as he went to the team’s bench.

The medical staff was quickly seen assessing his condition, focusing particularly on his left elbow. The elbow was later wrapped in bandages, per reporter Marc Grandi.

Butler still performed well despite the injury. In 37 minutes of action, he finished with a stat line of 24 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. He shot 7-of-15 from the field and 10-of-14 from the free-throw line.

Butler reflected on his performance after the game, per reporter Anthony Slater. When asked about the injury, he said he had the fortune of his back cushioning most of the fall.

“It’s all good. You know, we’ll be all right. Got a lot of cushioning back,” he said. “Straight a**. That’s what it was.”

“We going to see. I hope so. I want to hoop, man. I love going out there competing with these guys. So, let’s go out there and show that we can do something special come Tuesday.”

This comes after head coach Steve Kerr provided his insight into the injury, via 95.7 The Game.

“I’m sure he’ll be sore tomorrow. I asked him when it happened, and I said, ‘What hurts?’ And he said, ‘Everything,’” Kerr said.

Golden State is dealing with a few injuries on the roster, seeing Jonathan Kuminga finally return from one. Stephen Curry is out for a week due to a quad injury while De’Anthony Melton remains on the sidelines. They cannot afford another absence in the rotation, especially their second-best player in Butler.

What’s Next on Schedule for Butler and Warriors?

The Warriors can feel positive about Butler being confident in his ability to keep playing despite the injury scare. In the meantime, they have to figure out their inconsistencies on both sides of the ball when everyone is back at full health.

Golden State has an 11-10 record on the season, holding the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are two games above the Portland Trail Blazers and 2.5 games above the Memphis Grizzlies while trailing the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves by one game.

The Warriors will continue preparation for their upcoming matchup, being at home. They host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 2 at 11 p.m. ET. After that, they go on the road to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. ET.
