Jimmy Butler Fires Shots at Buddy Hield’s Dribbling With Playful 6-Word Message

Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield have maintained their off-court banter to the highest possible level.

While the Golden State Warriors secure a 2-1 lead against the Houston Rockets, Butler and Hield keep the mood light with their continuous back-and-forth.

Despite his absence on the court, Butler was a calming, insightful presence from the bench. However, his experienced point of view didn’t diminish his postgame playfulness.

Jimmy Butler Trolls Buddy Hield With Hilarious Message on Instagram

Suffering a scary pelvis injury, Butler had to sit out the Warriors-Rockets Game 3 at Chase Center. But the star forward was confident about his team, quickly thanking Batman (Stephen Curry) and others for the 104-93 win.

However, this didn’t stop Butler from trolling Hield and his dribbling.

“Thanks batman and team. excluding buddy,” Butler wrote on Instagram.

Fans loved the friendly banter, appreciating their efforts to keep it light despite the high-pressure situation.

In fact, Buddy referred to himself as Alfred — Batman’s butler — after the game.

“I knew Robin was out tonight, so I had to step up. Had to be Alfred tonight,” Hield said postgame.

The superheroes reference comes after Butler referred to Curry as Batman to his Robin. In fact, Butler remains confident in his new teammate’s ability to secure a win.

“He does [continue to amaze]. Like I always say, Batman comes out of nowhere. You never see him coming,” Butler said after their Game 1 win. “He just falls from the sky, from the building, behind the door, does some incredible things. Man, he’s gonna be the reason we do win it all. We all know that. We got to protect him at all costs.”

Butler Has Previously Made Fun of Hield’s Dribbling

Following their 95-85 Game 1 win, Butler candidly spoke about Hield’s dribbling.

“And Buddy, stop trying to dribble. … I hate that,” Butler said.

The 6x NBA All-Star’s words were playful, yet candid about his fellow teammate’s game.

Furthermore, a clip of Butler and Hield went viral during the game. The former was speaking to Hield about his dribbling, even gesturing and advising Hield through actions as the game entered crucial stages.

While one can’t confirm Butler’s exact words, he was seemingly asking Hield to stop dribbling and amp up his game.

Even fans poked fun at Hield’s game, convinced that he won’t be a part of another season in Bay Area.

Despite some obvious problem areas and failed transitions, Hield finished the game with 17 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Curry led the team, scoring 36 points in 41 minutes.

Butler, often hyped for his playoff form, had 25 and 3 points in Games 1 and 2, respectively.

That being said, though Butler’s MRI was negative for any fracture, Butler’s status for Game 4 remains uncertain. However, a victory without Butler has certainly added to the team’s confidence, looking to further their to 3-1 on Monday, April 28.
