Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield had a lighthearted exchange captured on camera after the Golden State Warriors’ recent game against the Toronto Raptors. Since joining the Warriors, Butler has significantly helped the team improve its record, proving his value as a star player.
What makes Butler an elite talent is his willingness to do whatever it takes to win. He stepped up to lead the Warriors to victory after Stephen Curry left the game with a pelvic injury.
After the game, Butler was in the middle of a postgame interview when Hield walked by, leading to an amusing moment between the two players.
Buddy Hield Teases Jimmy Butler About a “Fake Triple-Double”
A triple-double—reaching double digits in points, assists, and rebounds—is still considered by many to be an impressive stat line. Butler recorded just that in the matchup against the Raptors, finishing with 16 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.
During the interview, Butler was discussing Draymond Green’s impact on the team when Hield chimed in, saying, “Y’all talking to Jimmy about the fake a** triple-double he had today? That fake a** triple-double.”
Butler responded, “Oh my God. You don’t pass the ball enough to get a triple-double, bro.” Hield, not missing a beat, replied, “You pass the ball to me so you have more assists.”
Jimmy Butler told Draymond Green after his game-winning block: “I can do that, too.”

Hield walked off as Butler continued the interview, both players laughing at the playful exchange. This interaction showed Butler has already built a strong bond with his new Warriors teammates.
As for the “fake triple-double” jab, Hield was clearly joking. If Butler had padded his stats in a blowout, the comment might have held some weight. But Butler led the Warriors to victory with an impressive all-around performance, including a game-winning block.
If the Warriors want to maintain their spot in the West, Butler may need more of these “fake triple-doubles.” With Curry sidelined indefinitely, fans are left wondering how the team will finish the season.
