The Minnesota Timberwolves took care of business in Game 2 to even the NBA playoff series with the Golden State Warriors at 1-1. The Wolves jumped out to a big lead early and never looked back. The Warriors were missing superstar Stephen Curry, but fans still had something to cheer about as Jonathan Kuminga had a solid game.
Jimmy Butler was passive at the start, which may have contributed to the Warriors’ falling into a deep hole. Still, the Timberwolves were sharp from the beginning and perfectly played their game. Julius Randle led the charge, finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists. But this win was a total team effort.
Jaden McDaniels stayed hot from the Lakers series, putting up 16 points. Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points and three assists. When those role players step up, the Wolves are hard to beat. Anthony Edwards chipped in with 20 points and nine rebounds in 34 minutes, a strong outing despite some injury trouble.
Jaden McDaniels Praises Anthony Edwards After Ankle Issue
Edwards left the game before halftime with what looked like a serious ankle injury. But it wasn’t bad enough to keep him off the court. He returned in the second half, though he didn’t attack as much as usual.
Still, his presence made a difference. The Wolves couldn’t afford to fall into a 0-2 hole against a Warriors team missing Curry. Edwards didn’t need to be the star this time—just being out there gave Minnesota a lift. His ankle will be something to watch in Game 3, but it looks like he avoided major damage for now.
After the game, teammates McDaniels and Alexander-Walker praised Edwards for his toughness.
“Superman, for real”
“One thing about Ant, he’s not gonna sit out. He’s gotta be damn near dead.”
“I’ve seen it before, he’s gotta have his leg chopped off or some shit”

“Superman, for real,” McDaniels remarked, before Alexander-Walker chimed in with “one thing about Ant, he’s not gonna sit out. He’s gotta be damn near dead.”
It’s true, Edwards rarely misses games. He wants to be out there when it matters most.
Who Wins Game 3 Between The Warriors and Wolves?
With the series tied 1-1, Game 3 becomes huge. The Wolves may have the edge without Curry playing, but Golden State is a proud team that won’t go away quietly.
If Jimmy Butler can tap into some of that 2023 playoff magic and take over one of these next two games at Chase Center, the Warriors can stay alive until Curry returns.
But Minnesota can’t afford to take them lightly. If they do, it could backfire fast.
Will the Wolves take control? Or will the Warriors hold home court? We’ll find out soon enough.
