DeMar DeRozan has seen better days. Since the longtime veteran made the move to Sacramento, things haven’t been great. The Kings are currently in the play-in, but barely. At 36-40 and in the 10th seed, the Kings need a miracle to make it to the actual playoffs.
While the play-in competition is a bit stiff, the Kings will have their work cut out for them. With that, the Kings might look to end their DeRozan era already. If the Kings do make that decision, here are a few landing spots for DeRozan.
5 Potential Landing Spots For DeMar DeRozan
Los Angeles Lakers
He is a native of Los Angeles, which makes this a no-brainer. Playing alongside Luka Dončić and LeBron James would be exciting for DeRozan, but he’s not the best outside shooter or passer.

This puts him at a disadvantage with certain lineups, but considering the fact that the Lakers could use one more scorer on the team, DeRozan fits that. He’s a good scorer and midrange player who can take over if needed.
Brooklyn Nets
DeRozan has been in the league for 16 seasons. He will enter year 17 next season, so maybe playoff contention is not his focus. If DeRozan wanted to ring chase, Brooklyn would not be the ideal spot for him. However, the Nets could use DeRozan as a mentor to their young guys and a calming veteran presence.
New York Knicks
The roster is full of great stars, but they lack sufficient bench help. While DeRozan might not be willing to come off of the bench, it would be the best thing for him at this point in his career. Aiding Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart would serve a good purpose for DeRozan, but it would require his ego to be put on the back burner. It could result in a championship.
Los Angeles Clippers
This would be interesting. DeRozan joining the ranks of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard with Norman Powell there in the ranks would be a playoff team for sure. Harden is notorious for his rough playoff performances, but DeRozan would help with their midrange game.
With DeRozan being from LA, he would be a seamless fit next to Leonard, Powell, and Harden. Three scorers who can get take over the game alongside DeRozan would make this a tough team to defeat.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The number one team in the Eastern Conference has a lot of firepower. Similar to the Knicks situation, this would work well if DeRozan came off the bench. The Cavs have a solid bench, but they lack that scorer they can turn to at critical moments. DeRozan could fit into that role.
