As the fourth prime-time game of the week, tons of eyes will be on the matchup. Every part of pregame will also be in the spotlight.

Who will sing the National Anthem?

National Anthem Singer for Jets-49ers Revealed

The game is being played in San Francisco, but it will be the Philadelphia-based Boyz II Men who are performing the National Anthem.

Founded in 1985, the group is one of the biggest in the R&B and soul genres. Their members are Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Wanyá Morris.

Their first success came in 1991 with the release of “Motownphilly” and “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” both of which peaked inside the top five of the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to the main trio, the group was actually a quartet during the ’90s with bass singer Michael McCary. He left the group in 2003, however, due to health issues.

The last time the band released a studio album was in 2017 when they released “Under the Streetlight.”

The group has previous NFL experience, as they famously performed the National Anthem for their home team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in 2018.

That rendition of the National Anthem was harmonious, staying true to their roots. They all sang side-by-side in Eagles jerseys, and their soulful harmonization had the internet abuzz.

While the group is from Philadelphia, their fandom doesn’t only reside with the Eagles, though, as Nate Morris is actually an avid 49ers fan.

According to Nate Morris, he watched the 49ers beat the Cowboys and decided then he’d be a 49ers fan.

“I said, ‘OK. I’m going there,’ and I’ve been a Niner fan ever since,” he said. “It was like the saying, ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'”
