A Dream Come True for Estefisaavy

This opportunity has been a long-held dream for Estefisaavy, who was inspired to sing the national anthem after attending a Super Bowl game. During a ‘Get Ready With Me (GRWM) video posted on social media, she expressed her pride in achieving this milestone, reflecting on her journey from Ecuador to the U.S. and how to perform on such a significant platform.

She further shared in the video, “Most of you know, I grew up undocumented here in the United States. I was brought here at four years old from Ecuador. Went to elementary school, middle school, and high school. I always loved singing. And I remember the first time I saw the Super Bowl and saw someone singing the national anthem.

And I was like I wanna do that. It’s been in my bucket list for many years. I’m not gonna lie. I am proud of myself. Because a girl who was born in Ecuador was brought here by her parents who sacrificed everything. Grew up undocumented is going to be singing the national anthem.”

She added, “Another reason why I wanna do this is because someone really close to me once told me that I would never be a singer. I am too far to sing. I am singing the national anthem, this message is for anyone, who’s ever told them that they are not good enough to do something. Don’t let that stop you. I am so excited for this opportunity.”

Estefisaavy’s story is a testament to perseverance and the pursuit of the American dream that many young immigrants and the broader community aspire to achieve.
