Ryan Fitzpatrick is officially a NASCAR convert. The former NFL quarterback and current Prime Video analyst has caught the racing bug big time, and he’s not keeping quiet about it. After watching NASCAR’s recent streaming debut, Fitzpatrick made it clear he’s heading to Pocono Raceway on June 22.
It all started when Fitzpatrick contacted motorsports writer Jeff Gluck for some driver advice. After Ryan Blaney’s latest Nashville win, his youngest kid had already picked the No. 12 Team Penske driver as his favorite. Meanwhile, Dad was hunting for someone with “a thick beard” – only to find out today’s NASCAR drivers are pretty much all “well groomed.”
This isn’t just random timing either. NASCAR just launched on Prime Video with five Cup Series races, including the upcoming Pocono event. Since Fitzpatrick already works NFL coverage for Prime Video, he’s been getting pulled into the NASCAR world whether he likes it or not. Spoiler alert: he likes it a lot.
Ryan Fitzpatrick Set to Attend NASCAR Race at Pocono
Fitzpatrick couldn’t contain his excitement after watching the June 8 Michigan race. He posted: “Loving NASCAR right now!!! Gotta go see a race in person before @NASCARonPrime season ends…looks like I’ll see you guys at Pocono.” The racing community ate it up, and the post took off immediately.
But this wasn’t Fitzpatrick’s first NASCAR rodeo. In May, he was seen advising driver Corey LaJoie before the Coca-Cola 600, sharing thoughts on connecting with new fans and making the sport easier to understand for newcomers – basically treating it like he would any other broadcast.

When LaJoie heard about Fitzpatrick’s Pocono plans, he responded with an invite: “We need a Fitz appearance for the beer toast!”
Pocono Raceway isn’t a typical track either. They call it “The Tricky Triangle” for good reason. It has three completely different corners, making it unlike any other NASCAR race. The whole weekend runs June 20-22, with trucks on Friday, Xfinity on Saturday, and the main Cup Series event on Sunday.

Prime Video’s NASCAR deal is also pretty significant. They’re streaming five races as part of a multi-year partnership, trying to reach viewers who might never have considered watching racing before. Fitzpatrick’s journey from clueless newcomer to planning his first race trip is exactly the engagement NASCAR hopes for.
What makes this whole incident even better is the timing. NASCAR is riding some serious momentum right now, with a historic race coming up in Mexico City on June 15, 2025, before heading to Pocono. Having someone like Fitzpatrick, who’s got millions of NFL fans following him, jump on board is huge for the sport’s visibility.
As the man said, “See you guys at Pocono,” his passion indicates that it won’t be his last NASCAR adventure.
