Stage Set for High-Speed Drama: NASCAR 2025 Truck Series Qualifying Order at Michigan International Speedway

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returns to Michigan International Speedway this weekend for the first time since 2020. Saturday’s qualifying session (8:05 a.m. ET, FS1) sets the grid for the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250, a critical race in the playoff chase.

Underdogs will strike first on the two-mile oval. NASCAR’s qualifying metric — blending 70% of the owner’s previous race finish with 30% of their current points position — has put the championship leaders last in line for their single-lap runs for the Michigan race.

Underdogs Lead Off Michigan Truck Series Qualifying Charge

Norm Benning’s No. 6 Chevrolet will be the first to attack Michigan’s fresh asphalt. His top qualifying position reflects NASCAR‘s performance-balancing formula, which favors recent improvement over season-long consistency. The full field splits into two groups, with positions Nos. 1-16 in Group 1 and Nos. 17-32 in Group 2.

Saturday’s 1-Round, 1-Lap Qualifying Order:

Championship Pressure Meets Michigan History

The qualifying order has proved crucial at Michigan. The last 11 winners on the track started 10th or better, which is bad news for points leader Corey Heim, who will drive for the qualifying run last. The Tricon Garage star enters with a 122-point cushion but faces track conditions unlike any in his rookie season.

Michigan’s return after four years creates unique challenges. Only ThorSport Racing boasts previous victory lane experience on the track. Meanwhile, reigning champion Majeski sits precisely on the playoff bubble — ninth in points, just 26 ahead of Spire Motorsports driver Caruth, fresh off his Nashville win.

Four different winners claimed the last four races at Michigan, including the Cup Series star, Hocevar. This volatility shakes the playoff picture with six races remaining. Five drivers have bagged postseason spots; five more will emerge from battles like Heim vs. Majeski, a duel set to unfold from opposite ends of Saturday’s qualifying sheet.
