NASCAR Icon Danica Patrick Leaves F1 Weekend in the Dust with Record-Smashing Golf Drive

Danica Patrick just can’t stop breaking records. The former NASCAR and IndyCar star showed she’s still got that competitive fire — this time on the golf course. Right after working as an F1 analyst at the Miami Grand Prix, Patrick smashed her personal best with an impressive 250-yard drive that has both racing and golf fans talking.

At 43, Patrick has already done what many athletes only dream about. She made history as the only woman to win in IndyCar, then became a NASCAR pioneer. Now she’s making waves as an F1 analyst.

During the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, she was a fixture in the paddock, known for her sharp commentary and bold fashion choices, including a much-discussed all-white outfit that set social media buzzing. But after the checkered flag fell in Miami, Patrick traded the engines’ roar for the golf course’s quiet focus.

Danica Patrick Takes On Golf With the Same Determination That Made Her a Racing Star

“I decided to actually learn how to play golf about two years ago. Of course, it’s a little seasonal, mostly for heat in AZ, but also work and skiing! I thought I finally had it figured out last fall. Then I forgot how to hit my driver to start the year off… Until about 10 days ago. I remembered just as mysteriously as I forgot,” Patrick shared about her golf journey.

Her coach, Brian Daley, couldn’t contain his excitement when he posted about her achievement online: “250-yard drive, new record. Insane progress the last two weeks. A whole new understanding of her golf swing.”

Patrick’s not just playing golf for fun — she’s attacking it with the same determination that made her famous on the racetrack. She’s been honest about how challenging learning golf can be, saying it’s “a game you will never master and repeatedly wonder — why am I doing this to myself?!”

Patrick has jumped into new challenges headfirst since hanging up her racing helmet in 2018. First broadcasting, now golf. For her, it’s not just about the sport — it’s about pushing herself to master something new after already being at the top of another world.

What makes her 250-yard drive even more impressive is how new she is to golf. It shows her natural athletic ability and willingness to put in the hard work — the same qualities that made her a racing legend.

Whether making history on the racetrack or crushing drives on the fairway, Patrick inspires people with her never-quit attitude and openness to new challenges. As the dust settles from the F1 weekend, one thing’s for sure — Patrick is always looking for the next finish line to cross.
