FIRST LOOK: AWA Racing Showcases Stunning Livery Ahead of 24 Hours of Le Mans Debut

AWA Racing makes its 24 Hours of Le Mans debut in June, and on May 21, the Canadian race team revealed a stunningly unique livery for their historic entry at the legendary endurance race.

AWA Honors Canadian Heritage With Stunning Le Mans Livery

As the only Canadian entry into the 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, AWA Racing wanted to celebrate and honor its country on the global stage. Decked out in red and prominently sporting a white maple leaf on the front, rear, and roof of the No. 13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, the special edition livery certainly meets the memo, and then some.

While the No. 13 AWA Racing Chevrolet Z06 GT3.R makes its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the outfit is no stranger to American fans of endurance racing. Since 2022, the team owned by Andrew Wojteczko and operated out of Caledon, Ontario, has competed in the IMSA SportsCar Championship and won the GTD class at the 2025 edition of the Daytona 24 Hours.

Three drivers who piloted that Daytona-winning No. 13 car will journey across the pond to the Circuit de la Sarthe for the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Britain’s Matt Bell, Germany’s Lars Kern, and Canadian national Orey Fidani — who secured AWA Racing’s place on the Le Mans grid by winning the Bob Akin Award in the 2024 IMSA SportsCar Championship.

While 2025 will mark AWA Racing’s first entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans, at least one of its drivers will have experience of the iconic French circuit. Bell, a 35-year-old with 277 races on his resume, drove for the Cool Racing LMP2 outfit at Le Mans last season. The Canadian-run team will also have technical support from endurance racing royalty TF Sport.

Although Kern hasn’t raced at Le Mans before, the 37-year-old German has plenty of endurance racing experience. Before joining AWA Racing for the 2022 IMSA SportsCar Championship, he contested multiple 24-hour events, including at the legendary Nurburgring, where he won driving a Porsche Cayman GT4 for Manthey Racing in 2016.

Meanwhile, Fidani is a former Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge and Canadian Touring Car champion with 25 starts for the AWA Racing team. For the 38-year-old Canadian national, the opportunity to compete at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe while honoring his country with the special edition livery at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is something much more than just a race.

“This is more than just a race for us; it’s an opportunity to represent our country in front of the world,” Fidani told Sportscar365.com.

“Wearing Canada’s colors at Le Mans is an incredible honor, and we’ll be pushing hard to make our fellow Canadians proud. There will be no feeling quite like seeing that maple leaf drive down the Mulsanne Straight at over 300 km/h.”
