Kyle Larson’s wild weekend just got a little more luxurious. With one of the biggest weekends of his racing career right around the corner, Larson was recently spotted zooming off in a bright orange McLaren 750S, a gift that’d make any car lover’s jaw drop. This beauty came courtesy of Hendrick — the same team he drives for in NASCAR — and let’s just say, it’s got people talking.
Kyle Larson’s Crazy Double-Duty Weekend
Larson is taking on what racers call the “Double,” in which he will attempt to race in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. That’s 1,100 miles of racing, all in one single day.
Only one man, Tony Stewart, has pulled this off successfully, and that was over 20 years ago. If Larson makes it happen, he’ll be joining some seriously elite company.
Things didn’t exactly go smoothly during practice, though. Larson crashed both his Indy 500 practice sessions, the most recent being last Friday, which was a bit of a scare. But to his credit, he came back strong the next day and qualified for the race. He’ll be starting 19th on the grid, which isn’t great, but considering the crash and how competitive the Indy field is, it’s still a solid spot.
Larson, a full-time Cup driver for Hendrick Motorsports in NASCAR, is driving the No. 17 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet in the IndyCar Series as part of this challenge. The Arrow McLaren camp isn’t short on speed — Pato O’Ward will start third — but Larson’s side of the garage has faced its share of hiccups. The car’s balance hasn’t been perfect, and multiple scrapes with the wall haven’t helped.
McLaren’s Gift Is One Sweet Ride for Kyle Larson
Now, back to that car. The McLaren 750S is an absolute beast on the road. It’s got a twin-turbo V8 engine pushing out 740 horsepower, and it goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. The interior is decked out in Alcantara and leather, and it’s got a digital dash that gives it a very futuristic look. And thanks to McLaren’s iconic aerodynamic styling and carbon fibre body, the 750S handles like a dream.

Seeing Larson in that car isn’t just a cool moment — it’s kind of symbolic. It shows how much faith McLaren and Hendrick Motorsports have in him as he steps way out of his comfort zone to chase greatness. A $320,000 ride isn’t just a thank-you gift — it’s a green light to go out and be a legend.
All eyes are on Larson this Sunday. Can he pull off the Double? Can he go from Indy to Charlotte and make history? We’ll see. But one thing’s for sure — he’ll be riding in style, no matter what.
