Kevin Harvick Reveals His Feelings Ahead of CARS Tour Broadcast With Dale Earnhardt Jr.

When watching a live broadcast of any sport, the audio and visuals play a huge role. That is where the importance of commentary comes into play. Besides, one of the primary factors that makes the live broadcast of any sporting event entertaining is its commentary. Despite this, it is often an aspect that is easily overlooked by most.

Some of the most iconic moments in sports are usually synonymous with the commentary in the background. And when two icons of a sport come together in a booth, it is surely a recipe for a blockbuster.

Two NASCAR legends, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick, will be in the booth for the upcoming zMAX CARS Tour Race, and Harvick could not contain his excitement.

Kevin Harvick’s Excitement on Sharing The Commentary Booth with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Former contemporaries Dale Jr. and Harvick are two of the most recognizable faces in NASCAR. Although the two share a close friendship now, they have not been mates forever.

Over the years, the two have had their fair share of differences and even a bit of bad blood for a while. However, after Harvick’s appearance on Junior’s podcast in 2021, they have largely resolved their beef and have been friends ever since.

Then, in 2023, Harvick, alongside Jeff Burton, Justin Marks, and obviously Dale Jr., decided to buy the zMAX CARS Tour. Now, for the first time, since becoming co-owners, the two are about to go live in the commentary box for the upcoming race in North Wilkesboro.

In the recent episode of his podcast, ‘Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour,’ the 2014 championship winner mentioned his upcoming project with Dale Jr. a handful of times.

In the beginning, he praised Junior’s personality and said, “Dale is pretty much game for anything, and he’s a lot of fun. Dale’s a fun guy and has a lot of personality to go along with it. So, I’m pretty excited about being able to be in the booth this weekend.”

A little while later, when his co-host, Kaitlyn Vincie, brought up the topic again, Harvick dived deeper into the significance of the event. He added, “This is going to be really awesome, and I think for grassroots and short-track racing, this is a big moment.”

He also thanked the team at FOX and FloRacing for the entire arrangement and mentioned that the event would give the exposure that it deserves.

Alongside Harvick and Junior, the booth will also have Eric Brennan, the regular broadcaster of the series. Harvick commented on this, saying, “So Eric calls races every week, but Dale and I are gonna invade the booth this week and be able to talk about our guys and gals that typically run in the CARS Tour, and look forward to a great event.”

Mamba Smith then spoke about the evolution of the CARS Tour from its start under Jack McNelly’s leadership in 2014 to its current state over the past decade. He also added that with new ownership, the tournament now has the potential to go places.
