NASCAR or F1 – which one is better? This is a question that has divided motorsports fans for years. There are arguments for and against both, but ultimately, the answer comes down to personal preference. Kenny Wallace has recently addressed a NASCAR vs. F1 take on social media.
Wallace did not shy away from taking a dig at F1 in the past. The former FILMAR Racing driver, once again, did not hesitate to counter a claim that suggested F1 is better than NASCAR.

Wallace dismissed the idea that F1 is better than NASCAR, saying both racing formats attract fans for very different reasons.
Speaking on his show “Coffee With Kenny,” the former NASCAR driver fired back at an article in which a loyal NASCAR fan described F1 as the superior experience after attending the Miami Grand Prix.

“If you’re going to tell me that Formula 1 racing is better than NASCAR racing. Well, that’s false. It’s not even true. Formula 1 racing, the way they race, it doesn’t even come close to how exciting NASCAR is,” Wallace said.
He clarified that he wasn’t trying to spark conflict with F1 fans or create a rivalry between the two motorsports. However, he said that he believes NASCAR is a superior form of racing.
“If you’re going to go to a Formula 1 race, because you enjoy the experience. You’re going to go to a NASCAR race ’cause it’s a great experience too, but the racing is better. NASCAR racing is better. It’s not even a damn lie,” Wallace continued.
“I’m an intelligent race fan, I know about racing. You can’t fool me, this race is no good. So, I’m gonna go over here to Formula One, where I know the race is no good, but we’re gonna have a good time.
“You got some good bands playing, they got good food and drinking, and you like the sophistication of the car. It’s two different things, everybody!” he added.
With F1 in Miami and NASCAR in Texas last weekend, fans on social media highlighted one major difference. F1’s ad-free broadcasts offer a smoother, more immersive experience than NASCAR’s ad-filled coverage.
Wallace also pointed to NASCAR’s growing TV ratings and attendance at tracks trending in a positive direction. The recent Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway averaged more than two and a half million viewers, an increase of almost 10% from last year.
According to Wallace, Formula 1’s rise in mainstream popularity is thanks in large part to Liberty Media, which took control in 2017. Wallace hinted that F1’s cultural relevance comes from smart media strategy, and NASCAR could benefit from adopting a similar approach.
