According to fans, the 2025 Food City 500 at Bristol was about as exciting as watching paint dry. The race, which had all the hype leading into it, turned out to be quite boring. NASCAR fans across the board were furious, taking to social media to slam the race, the track, the cars — everything.
But just when the outrage was reaching peak internet meltdown, veteran Kenny Wallace rushed in to defend NASCAR against all the hate.
What Went Down at Bristol?
Bristol Motor Speedway, often referred to as “The Last Great Colosseum,” has a storied history of intense, bumper-to-bumper racing. Yet, this year’s race lacked the usual drama.
Kyle Larson absolutely dominated the race, leading 411 of the 500 laps. No classic Bristol craziness, barely any cautions, and no epic late-race battles. Just clean air, minimal tire wear, and a bunch of cars stuck behind each other like they were commuting to work.
And fans weren’t having it. X lit up with people saying the Food City 500 was a total snooze fest. Some even started wishing for the old Bristol dirt days, which were definitely more eventful.
The Next Gen car, designed to enhance competition, was criticized for limiting overtaking opportunities, making the inside line feel more like a procession than a battleground. Contrary to expectations, tire degradation was at a bare minimum, which took away any chance of the race being even slightly exciting.
Kenny Wallace Issues Candid Response to Critical Fans
While fans were fuming, Wallace was out here calling people out like a NASCAR vigilante.
In a post that instantly caught fire, Wallace slammed fans for being critical of the NASCAR race quality, stating, “Y’all need to take a massive f****** break from b******* and moaning about a NASCAR race.”
Wallace was clearly fed up with the endless complaints, and honestly, he does have a point. Not every race is going to be an edge-of-your-seat Hollywood blockbuster. Sometimes, it’s just a normal, boring race.
He added, “Ain’t nobody worried about that b*******. The f****** place fits 155,000 people.”
So now the question is, whose side are you on? The fans, who want every race to be a nonstop thrill ride, or Wallace, who’s reminding everyone that NASCAR isn’t always about fireworks — it’s about the grind, the storylines, and even the occasional snoozer?
Either way, one thing is for sure — when Wallace talks, NASCAR fans listen… even if it’s with steam coming out of their ears.
Wait til NASCAR switches to EV’s!!!! That will be the final nail in the coffin.
“Motorsports” will be dead… ask Harley Davidson, known for its rumbling v-twins that is a huge part of the experience… electric race cars and electric Harley’s – nope!
