Being one of the most competitive sporting formats, every second in racing is as crucial as a heartbeat. At times, a fraction of a second here or there can alter the entire trajectory of a contest. Now, thriving in such a competitive environment requires drivers and teams to be tighter in almost every aspect of the track.
While it might sound simple, improving a team is far more complicated and often comes down to resources. That’s why well-funded, experienced teams usually hold the edge. And now, NASCAR driver Jeremy Clements may finally shed his underdog label after announcing a move to a powerhouse team next year.
Jeremy Clements’ Career In NASCAR So Far
Like most stock car racers, Clements, too, began his journey with go-karts before climbing the ladder that eventually led to NASCAR. Now, ever since the doors of NASCAR opened up for Clements in 2003, he has been a regular in the circuit.
On paper, Clements has had a long career in the sport with over 500 starts. However, when it comes to victories, he only has two Xfinity Series wins. His stats, however, have not stopped him from being one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR’s second division. A significant portion of Clements’ stunted statistical success is attributed to limited resources and injuries.
Clements, who has driven chiefly for Jeremy Clements Racing, a team operated by his family, has had to face several giants in the league that have no shortage of resources, funding, or talent.
Against them, Clements has had a tough time thriving with his talent alone and has earned the reputation of the league’s underdog, which has fans rooting for him. However, that might change now with the team’s latest alliance.
Jeremy Clements Racing’s Latest Alliance With Haas Factory Racing
Earlier today, Jeremy Clements Racing announced the formation of a technical alliance with the Haas Factory team. As per the agreement between the two teams, Clements’ No. 41 Chevy will now have access to Haas’ shop in Kannapolis, North Carolina, in addition to its own workshop in Spartanburg, South Carolina, from which the team has fielded cars in the sport.

This will open up a whole new set of possibilities for Clements and Co., who were essentially floating alone against the big names in the Xfinity Series.
Following the move, the 40-year-old shared his thoughts in a press release. He said, “We’ve always fought hard as a single-car team, but this is a major opportunity for us, and partnering with the Haas Factory Team means a lot! We’re excited for what’s ahead!”

Clements also thanked his sponsors for believing in the team all this while. He even revealed that the alliance was possible, in part, due to the unwavering support of his sponsors.
Although Clements will still race under his own team’s banner, the partnership will surely catapult the No. 51 Chevy into a different league in terms of statistics.
