One year after making his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut, long-time Lexus racing driver Jack Hawksworth will once again leap behind the wheel in the legendary endurance race after earning an injury call-up for the French-run Akkodis ASP Team.
Jack Hawksworth Lands Le Mans Seat for Second Successive Season
Hawksworth will join Finn Gehrsitz and Arnold Robin for the No. 78 Akkodis ASP entry into the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, replacing the injured Ben Barnicoat. He’ll be behind the wheel of a Lexus RC F LMGT3 for the second successive season, having helped pilot the car to 10th place in the LMGT3 class a year ago.
“I’m really excited to return to Le Mans with Akkodis ASP Team,” Hawksworth told FIAWEC.com. “Obviously, it’s a shame for Ben that he’s not able to take part, but we all wish him a quick recovery, and I’m ready to join the guys in France and give it my all. The team and car have been very competitive over the first few rounds of 2025, and I’m really looking forward to trying to win the biggest race of the year with them!”

While it’s just his second shot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Hawksworth has built a special relationship with the Lexus RC F, having raced the sports car in the IMSA Sportscar Championship for multiple teams since 2017.
The talented British driver won the GTD Pro class championship in 2023 while driving the machine for Vasser Sullivan Racing. Scoring victories at Long Beach and Watkins Glen, Hawksworth shared the car with the man he’ll replace for the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 34-year-old British driver is a familiar name for American motor racing fans, having won the Star Mazda Championship in 2012 before competing in the Indy Lights series in 2013, and spending three years in the IndyCar Series with Bryan Herta Autosport and A.J. Foyt Enterprises. Hawksworth’s best result was a third place at the 2014 Grand Prix of Houston.
Hawksworth has a legitimate shot at claiming class glory when he takes to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe on June 14. The No. 78 Akkodis ASP car has shown exciting pace at times during the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, and the Lexus was on LMGT3 class pole position for the most recent round at Spa.
