British racing driver Katherine Legge will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series Viva Mexico 250. She is the only “Open” entry in a 37-car field for this historic race. NASCAR released the preliminary entry list on Monday afternoon.
This event marks the first NASCAR Cup Series points-paying race outside the United States in 67 years. It features all 36 full-time teams with Charters, plus Legge’s non-Chartered entry.
The race is part of NASCAR’s ongoing effort to grow its international presence and connect with Mexico’s large motorsports audience. The Mexico City track, known worldwide for hosting Formula 1 events, previously held NASCAR Xfinity Series races from 2005 to 2008. NASCAR first announced the return to Mexico last August.
Katherine Legge, a 44-year-old driver with experience in open-wheel and sports car racing, is making her second Cup Series start of the season in Mexico. Her previous Cup start came in March at Phoenix Raceway, where she finished 30th, also with Live Fast Motorsports. She has 10 total starts across NASCAR’s national series.
NASCAR reporter Dustin Long shared entry lists for both the Cup and Xfinity Series on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Katherine Legge will be backed by a $6.4 Billion Cosmetic Giant at Mexico City
Legge will be supported by e.l.f. Cosmetics for her upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City. The $6.4 billion beauty brand is sponsoring her No. 78 Chevrolet for the Viva Mexico 250.
The partnership between Legge and e.l.f. began earlier this year. On Apr. 10, the company announced its sponsorship of her No. 32 Chevy in the Xfinity Series. That support has now carried over into her Cup Series schedule as well.

I’m thrilled to work towards achieving my racing goals with my e.l.f. team alongside team Chevy,” Legge said via NASCAR.com. “I want to be respected as one of the best drivers in motorsport, and there is no better place to hone my skill set against the best of the best in front of the largest motorsport audience in the U.S.”
