Porsche Penske Motorsport has enjoyed a dream start to the IMSA WeatherTech Championship. As the team takes their #7 driver line-up across the pond to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside the regular FIA World Endurance Championship entries, star driver Felipe Nasr has described the “ultimate goal” of winning the iconic race as part of an endurance triple crown.
Felipe Nasr Confident Of Securing Endurance Racing Triple Crown at Le Mans
Nasr, a three-time IMSA champion who has won the last two 24 Hours of Daytona with the Porsche Penske Motorsport team, heads to France for his sixth attempt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, chasing greatness on multiple levels. He’s never won at the Circuit de la Sarthe, and is looking to bring Roger Penske a victory in the epic endurance race, ending a 62-year quest.

Having won this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, Nasr and Penske are also hunting for history. While most would be satisfied with the success they’ve tasted already in 2025, Nasr has only one goal for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“To have that addition in my CV, Roger’s, Penske, and Porsche as well. I think that’s the ultimate goal,” Nasr said ahead of hitting the track at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day.
“We had a dream start of this season, having won Daytona and Sebring. To me that’s already history in the making. And it’s an honor to be a part of this success together with PPM. But it’s always an unknown in terms of like, who is going be wearing what, in terms of performance.”
“But I feel very confident that we have a strong group of team and people,” Nasr continued.
That strong group of people includes a previous 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. Nasr shares the #7 Porsche Penske Motorsport entry in the IMSA series with British driver Nick Tandy, and the two will combine with Pascal Werhlein to take on the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe in the #4 entry. Tandy tamed the 24 Hours of Le Mans driving a Porsche 919 in 2015.
The British driver has an extensive history at the event, with his entry in the upcoming race marking the 13th attempt at conquering the iconic event. Having won the race in 2015, Tandy is the only driver to secure wins in the four major 24-hour races (Le Mans, Daytona, Nürburgring, and Spa).
The #4 Porsche Penske Motorsport entry had an inauspicious start to their assault on the 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Logging a 3:29.976 in the first session of the annual test day, the team ranked 16th of the 21 classified Hypercar entries and the slowest of the factory-backed Porsche 963 machines.

However, the IMSA Championship leaders fared much better during the afternoon running. Completing 32 laps with a fastest time of 3:27.489, the #4 Porsche Penske Motorsport finished the second session sixth overall and second of the Porsche 963 entries. Furthermore, the Nasr, Tandy, Wehrlein trio was just 1.243 seconds off the fastest time of the day.
The 2025 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is shaping up to be one for the ages. If Nasr can help power the Porsche Penske Motorsport entry twice around the clock and across the finish line first on Sunday, it will complete a historic single-season accomplishment for the Brazilian driver — and his team boss.
