With the D-Day right of the NASCAR and 23XI Racing/FRM trial right around the corner, both sides have heartily fired shots against each other, which also led to a bunch of courtroom data leaking on the internet. The text scandal involving NASCAR bosses stirred heavy backlash for the governing body, garnered disapproval from many sports legends, and gave rise to numerous controversies.
Now, Denny Hamlin, one of the owners of 23XI Racing, is also one of the boldest and bluntest personalities in NASCAR. And the No. 11 driver recently posted a cryptic tweet about brainwashing in NASCAR, which prompted many fans to speculate with suspicion.
Fans’ Respond To Denny Hamlin’s Bold Claims About NASCAR
Hamlin’s tweet also garnered many fans who supported him and criticized the NASCAR media, particularly regarding the No. 11 driver. One fan highlighted the growing mistrust of fans in media outlets and wrote, “Anything with the word MEDIA can’t be trusted in anything nowadays.”
Another user pointed out the lack of transparency in the news about NASCAR’s trial and said, “This answers my questions as to why @NASCAR journalists won’t write or say anything about the latest texts/emails. Will we ever be able to trust anything any of them write about ever again, knowing where it’s coming from?”
A user even claimed NASCAR had drifted away from its original goal and wrote, “I’m not going to lie, I was skeptical of of all of this. Once I saw the texts/ emails, I believe Denny. Nascar seems to forget small teams and blue collar fans built the sport and made it popular. Now nascar wants to have nothing to do with either.”
Many non-Hamlin fans also rooted for him specifically for the trial. One wrote, “I’m not a fan of yours. If I see you at the track I’d give you the 11’s. But…I have respect for you as a driver and what you’re trying to accomplish with the lawsuit.”
Lastly, a fan showed full support to the No. 11 driver and said, “LETS GO DENNY!!! Stick it to those guys! Those greedy fools have ruined this great sport! It’s time they take it on the chin!”
Why Hamlin Accused NASCAR Media For Spreading False Propaganda
As Hamlin bounced from the absolute shock of having the NASCAR championship slip from his fingers, he was already bracing for another battle to come. When Hamlin and Michael Jordan decided to sue NASCAR, they might not have expected this magnitude of dirt to come out as a result.
However, more than the consequences for the team, the legal battle has exposed the dark side of the sport. The leaked texts of some of NASCAR’s top executives, containing derogatory remarks about several respected names in the sport, displeased many, including fans.
Along with many sports icons who expressed their disappointment, Hamlin also voiced his disapproval. Hamlin, who was also racing full-time in NASCAR as a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, has often been careful with his comments on the legal battle. This time, however, the Cup veteran did not mince his words.
It started when Hamlin came across an article that loosely painted Hamlin and Jordan as the bad guys going against NASCAR. When the 44-year-old came across the piece, he instantly declared it a propaganda piece and, in his reply, called out the governing body for promoting lies.
He wrote: “Please give credit to @mforde for helping you write this propaganda piece that they want pushed to switch the narrative. Continuous lies about our stance, NASCAR’s motives for its actions, and a continued message from the sanctioning body that everything is fine. Our fans know better.”
In response, the writer insisted that they had chosen a neutral stance while writing the article and expressed sorrow for not having obtained Hamlin’s approval. They wrote: “Tried to hit it down the middle, thus all the “(Fill in the blank) believes…” and “(Fill in the blank) argues…” Sorry you disagree, but thanks for reading. See you Monday.”

Still, Hamlin was far from convinced and further argued that the governing body had been brainwashing fans to promote a whitewashed image of the sport. The No. 11 driver also stated that, come Monday [start of the ‘NASCAR vs. 23XI Racing/FRM’ trial], the truth about NASCAR will be out. He said, “Our fans have been brainwashed with their talking points for decades. Narratives pushed by the media who are intimidated by them. Lies are over starting Monday morning. It’s time for the truth. It’s time for change.”
While the trial is set to commence in less than a handful of days now, Hamlin’s bashing of the NASCAR media has only gotten fans warmed up for the lengthy legal battle that awaits.
