Denny Hamlin has left only three more openings in the 2025 Championship 4 field after picking up an emotionally charged win at Las Vegas. Now, the action moves to Talladega for the YellaWood 500 as the NASCAR Cup Series approaches its conclusion.

Ryan Blaney enters this weekend’s race at Talladega in last place, but he’s no stranger to success here. The Team Penske driver drove his Ford to victory in the 2023 YellaWood 500 and went on to win the championship this year.
Hamlin has two wins at the 2.66-miler, but none of those came in the Next Gen era. He won here last in 2020, and in his last two outings at Talladega, the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran finished outside the top 20.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr pulled off a surprise victory at last year’s race, while Blaney has two YellaWood 500 victories to his name since 2019. This weekend, Blaney must deliver a positive result if he wants to stay alive in the playoff race.
Defending champion Joey Logano has long been a superspeedway specialist, winning at Talladega three times. But he also has a history of mishaps here. His P5 finish at Talladega was canceled earlier this season after he was disqualified for violating spoiler rules.
Hendrick Motorsports enters the round with three playoff drivers, making up nearly half the field. Chase Elliott has two wins at Talladega, and both Kyle Larson and William Byron have consistently delivered solid finishes at this iconic venue.
After being held up by Ty Dillon last week, Byron finds himself 15 points below the playoff cutoff and will need a victory this weekend. Talladega has treated him well in the past, with three top-five finishes and five top-10s in his last seven outings.
