Being a sport filled with adrenaline, things can often get hot rather quickly in a NASCAR race. With this, often comes the cussing. While cussing and foul-mouthing are not a set trend in NASCAR, several big names in the league have been guilty of this. And in certain cases, it extends beyond the track as well.
As a sport, NASCAR has evolved quite a bit, with even drivers leaning towards more calm demeanors. However, every once in a while, a racer loses it in the heat of the moment and goes on a rant.
Recently, when Joey Logano of Team Penske came on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcast, he spoke about his recent outburst at Talladega. This led to Dale Jr. exposing the cussing habit of a fellow NASCAR legend.

When Logano made a virtual appearance on the podcast in his red polo and hat, Junior initially grilled him a bit about his recent controversy.

Junior confessed that he had never heard Logano swear before and compared the moment to when he learnt about Bob Saget’s standup comedy career.
“You learn later in life that Bob Saget also does standup,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “Where he cusses a ton. And that was kind of my experience when I saw the things you said about your teammate. I was like, ‘this is like when I learned Bob Saget cussed.'”
As the room burst out laughing, Logano explained things from his side. He argued that his outburst was a result of his passion and his intense drive to win. However, the No. 22 driver acknowledged that things escalated pretty quickly and said, “It unloaded pretty quickly.”
After this, Junior recalled some memories from his childhood when he used to be around Dale Sr.’s pals, specifically Rusty Wallace. Junior revealed that the 1989 NASCAR champion was infamous for his use of the F-word.
“Rusty Wallace says the F-word in every sentence. Like Rusty says, the F-word a lot, just in general conversation. Then there’s the other dad who cusses quite a bit around his buddies.”
As Junior spilled the tea on Wallace, he confessed to using the F-word rather loosely in certain situations, but feels the need to watch is mouth more often.
“I say the F-word right here on this show a lot, and a lot of cuss words generally. I have to be really careful when I go home because it slips out.”
Dale Jr. then gave his opinion of Logano, where, ahead of the Talladega race, he believed the Team Penske driver did not cuss much.
The group then spoke about Logano’s online feud with MLB legend Chipper Jones and the racer’s experience in the victory lane at Texas, where he was seen in an Atlanta Braves hat.
