Brad Keselowski hasn’t had the kind of season he hoped for in 2025. In fact, it’s been quite rough and disappointing. Blown tires and ugly crashes continue to disrupt his season.
But if there’s one thing that hasn’t blown out, it’s his spirit. Even after heartbreak in Kansas, the RFK Racing owner/driver is still smiling and fighting—and now, he’s looking ahead to the big one: the Coca-Cola 600.
Heartbreak At Kansas For Brad Keselowski
Kansas almost felt like the one where Keselowski would manage to finally win a race this season. He qualified 36th at Kansas after the team got too bold with tire pressure in practice. But when the green flag dropped, so did Keselowski’s hammer. He clawed his way through the field, starting at sixth by Stage 2. And then—things got really exciting.
By Lap 180, Keselowski made a clean pass on Kyle Larson (eventual race winner) to move into second. Suddenly, it felt like the No. 6 Ford Mustang was dialed in for something big. Chase Elliott was leading, but Keselowski was gaining fast. The gap shrank from nearly two seconds to under one. Fans watching could almost taste the comeback.
Then, disaster hit. Out of nowhere, on Lap 195, his car suddenly lost rear tire pressure entering Turn 1. Keselowski’s car slowed to a crawl exiting Turn 2, and the dream fizzled out right there. He had to be towed back, finishing 37th out of the 38 cars. It was his third straight DNF (did not finish) and fifth of the season. The nightmare continues.
Despite the brutal ending, Keselowski kept his cool afterward, telling Frontstretch, “We blew a tire entering Turn 1, and just got in the fence. We put ourselves in position like that, you win races, and I felt like this is a pretty significant overhaul of the No.6 team from where we were last year.”
“There are some pieces that are starting to click, and maybe not getting the result, but showing the potential to get the result. Today was a step forward for us, even though the running order, the finishing order, is not going to show it,” he added.
Looking Ahead To The Coca-Cola 600
Now, the next stop is Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600—a race that tests endurance, patience, and every ounce of horsepower a team can throw at it. And Keselowski’s already fired up. He said, “go win the Coke 600. That’s where my emotions are at.”
Even with the recent slump, he isn’t giving up. He’s been around long enough to know that one great race can flip the whole script. And Charlotte, one of NASCAR’s crown jewels, might just be that race.
Keselowski may be 33rd in the standings right now, but if Kansas taught us anything, it’s this: he’s still got the speed, determination, and the fight. With a little more luck—and maybe slightly safer tire pressure—he could surprise a lot of people in the 600.
