Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy are no strangers to race weekends, but nothing quite prepared them for the wild energy of Formula One at Miami last weekend. The couple packed their bags and left behind the world of NASCAR for a few days, stepping into something totally different: a sun-soaked, music-blasting, celebrity-packed F1 experience that left them wide-eyed and totally entertained.
Now, Earnhardt’s wife is finally sharing what that whirlwind weekend was really like. Let’s just say, it had a lot more than just fast cars.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy Earnhardt Step Into a Whole New World
Earnhardt Jr., who has spent most of his life living and breathing NASCAR, admitted he wasn’t sure what to expect when he and his wife arrived at the Miami Grand Prix. He’s always been loyal to the stock car scene. But after this trip, even he had to admit F1 knows how to put on a show.
Speaking on his ‘Bless Your Hardt’ podcast with his other half, Earnhardt Jr. said, “I’m a NASCAR fanboy. NASCAR to me is the greatest thing in the whole wide world. Always will be. I’m more entertained by the NASCAR product by a bit. Now I was a bit surprised how entertained I was by the F1 product, especially when Max was trying to defend.”
Earnhardt Jr. even got to meet F1 racer Max Verstappen in person, and he was starstruck. It’s a big deal coming from someone who used to cheer for F1 legends like Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen.
Beach Clubs, Mermaids, and Miami Madness
While Earnhardt Jr. focused on the racing, his wife couldn’t get over the vibe of the whole weekend.

“Well we knew going into it that it was like an event,” she said. “It wasn’t just about racing. There’s so many different pockets to do. I mean parties, there’s like techno club music playing at all times, even up to the point of the race starting.”
“The fans are like fist pumping, and on their feet. It feels like everybody is at a beach club. Part of that probably is because it is Miami, of course. But the environment was like full of energy. It was really cool,” she added.
Even though Earnhardt Jr. is still all-in on NASCAR, he admitted that the F1 weekend gave him a whole new appreciation for how racing can feel. For his wife, it was more than just fast cars—it was the atmosphere, the energy, and the experience that made it all special.
And maybe the Earnhardts will be back next year—dancing by the pool, sipping something fancy, and cheering on Verstappen like seasoned F1 pros.
