‘My Girlfriend Chased It’ — Alex Bowman Reveals Terrifying Snake Surprise Fueled by Chloe Henderson’s Hilarious Mishap

Alex Bowman’s Chicago race weekend took an unexpected turn when girlfriend Chloe Henderson accidentally let a snake into their bedroom during what was supposed to be a routine Thursday morning at home.

The defending Chicago Street Race champion found himself dealing with an impromptu wildlife rescue mission that left both shaken and entertained, proving that even NASCAR drivers face unusual challenges off the track.

Alex Bowman’s Morning Snake Hunt Becomes Viral NASCAR Story

On July 4, 2025, Bowman shared the hilarious yet terrifying story on social media, revealing how Henderson’s morning routine went completely sideways. “That snake coming in my bedroom this morning. (There was a snake?) Yeah. Yeah. My girlfriend chased it into my bedroom this morning,” Bowman initially revealed, before explaining the full story.

“Chloe scared a snake into the house somehow. She let the dogs out and when she turned around to come back inside, there was a snake like going across the path of the door and she like screamed and ran away and left the door wide open,” Bowman explained in a video interview.

Henderson’s natural fear response created the perfect storm for disaster. Her screaming and running left the door wide open, giving the snake an unobstructed path straight into their house. The No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports driver suddenly found himself in an unexpected situation that had nothing to do with racing, but everything to do with quick thinking.

For a guy who regularly hits speeds over 180 mph, Bowman had to slow down and use a completely different skill set. NASCAR drivers are used to split-second decisions, but this required patience and careful movement to avoid spooking the reptile further.

What followed was a nerve-wracking half-hour search through their bedroom. “So, snake went into the bedroom and we didn’t really know if it did or didn’t ’cause I wasn’t around at the moment, and spent like half an hour looking for it, was convinced it wasn’t in there, and then turned around and it was right there,” Bowman recounted.

The search felt endless as Bowman methodically combed through every corner of their bedroom. Just when he’d convinced himself the snake had never actually made it inside, he turned around and there it was, sitting right there like it owned the place. The timing couldn’t have been worse with Chicago race weekend approaching, but Bowman handled the situation with his typical calm demeanor.

The Great Snake Rescue Operation

Once he spotted the unwelcome visitor, Bowman had to channel his racing composure into wildlife management. The defending Chicago winner successfully captured the reptile and relocated it back outside, handling the situation with the same calm precision he shows on the racetrack.

“Yeah, had to capture a snake and put it back in its natural habitat, but yeah, it was an exciting Thursday morning for sure,” Bowman noted with characteristic understatement.

The whole ordeal gave Bowman and Henderson a story they’ll be telling for years. While most couples deal with typical morning routines, theirs involved an unexpected wildlife encounter that tested both their nerves and problem-solving skills.

Later, Bowman identified the snake as likely a king snake or black snake, both beneficial species that help control dangerous snake populations. “I think they eat copperheads, right? So, it’s the snake that you want in your backyard, not the snake you don’t want,” he explained, showing his knowledge of local wildlife.

The incident quickly became a hit on social media, with fans enjoying the lighter side of their favorite driver’s life. It’s not every day you see a NASCAR champion trading his helmet for snake-wrangling duties, but Bowman took it all in stride. The story perfectly captures the unpredictable nature of life outside the cockpit, where even defending race winners have to deal with unexpected house guests.
