What to expect from the Eagles at Cowboys?

Both teams face rounds of injuries at various positions. Dallas already lost DE DeMarcus Lawrence for a good portion of the 2021 regular season. Today, they will be without DT Carlos Watkins, LB Keanu Neal, and DEs Dorance Armstrong and Bradlee Anae. Additionally, safety Donovan Wilson is doubtful to play in Monday Night Football tonight.

As for their opponent, Philadelphia placed DE Brandon Graham on injured reserve this past Tuesday. Meanwhile, S Rodney McLeod and left tackle Jordan Mailata are out this week as well. Both defenses are dealing with significant losses, and with two talented quarterbacks under center, this game could turn into a high-scoring affair.

Hurts and Prescott the key for their teams

Both teams had no issue scoring in Week 1. While Dallas’ defense has looked better than last year’s train wreck, it still has its issues. Jalen Hurts has been deadly on the ground this season, leading Philadelphia in rushing. Having to commit extra attention to Hurts’ dual-threat capabilities should cause problems for the Cowboys’ defense. At the same time, Philly’s defense will have its hands full with a talented opposing QB.

Dallas’ rushing offense finally got going in Week 2’s showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, it was Tony Pollard, not Ezekiel Elliott, leading the way for the boys in blue and silver. Getting this rushing attack going in Monday Night Football will be high on the list for Dallas’ offense tonight. So far, the Eagles have given up 120.5 rushing yards per game in 2021.

Prescott has continued to look as advertised, but winning this game would be a massive boost of confidence for the Cowboys. The NFC East infamously comes down to the wire — and not in the best of ways. A win for either team could pay dividends when it’s time to settle a tiebreaker.

Both teams can win this Monday Night Football game tonight, to be honest. Yet, given how many more injuries Dallas is facing at the moment, I predict the Eagles squeak out a close victory, 34-31.
