The Absolute Best Monday Night Football Prop Bets: Breece Hall, Brock Purdy, Jordan Mason, and Others

What are the top Monday Night Football prop bets for Week 1, as the New York Jets face the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara?

    Published on

The final game of Week 1 sees the New York Jets face the San Francisco 49ers in Levi’s Stadium. This game is loaded with stars on both teams and both sides of the ball, which could make it one of the more entertaining games of the entire week. But which players will shine on Monday Night Football, and who could be set to struggle?

Let’s take a look at what our NFL betting experts think will happen with our Monday Night Football prop bets for Week 1.

Recommended Prop Bets for New York Jets vs. San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy Under 235.5 Passing Yards (-110) | Ben Rolfe

When you look at Brock Purdy’s passing numbers from 2023, this number seems very low. He averaged 267.5 passing yards per game last season and topped this number in 11 of his 16 games. Therefore, looking towards the under might seem odd, but this is all about the opponent as opposed to Purdy himself.

Last season, the Jets were the third-best team in the NFL in passing yards allowed at 3,182 or 187.2 per game. Some of that was due to them often trailing in games and teams deciding to run the ball on them, but it also comes down to New York’s very impressive pass defense.

The Jets have Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed on the outside, which is one of the best duos in the entire NFL. They then have Chuck Clark and Tony Adams at safety, who are both solid options, with Michael Carter II as the nickel.

One of the teams who were better against the pass last year than the Jets was the Cleveland Browns. Against them, Purdy could only throw for 125 yards in a Week 6 loss. Those sorts of numbers could be in play tonight if the Jets’ defense plays to their potential.

Breece Hall Anytime TD (+120) | Brian Blewis

Breece Hall is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL. Like his teammate Garrett Wilson, however, he’s been held back by horrific quarterback play over the last two seasons.

The Jets’ offense was so bad last season that Hall only had one — yes, one — carry inside the 5-yard line in 17 games.

Now that Aaron Rodgers is back, this Jets offense should receive a huge boost. Rodgers doesn’t even need to return to his MVP-caliber form for New York’s offense to improve dramatically. He just needs to be considerably better than Zach Wilson was last season, which is a very low bar.

Even against a stout 49ers defense, I’m expecting the Jets to give Hall the opportunity to find his way into the end zone.

Jordan Mason Anytime TD (+850) | Rolfe
Kyle Juszczyk Anytime TD (+1300) | Rolfe

With Christian McCaffrey not at 100%, the 49ers could use other running backs in Week 1. Jordan Mason figures to be the primary backup to McCaffrey, while Kyle Juszcyzk should get some play at fullback. Both could figure to get into the mix around the goal line if McCaffrey needs to be spelled.

Last season, Mason, Juszcyzk, and Elijah Mitchell combined for seven touchdowns. Mitchell is on injured reserve, and there’s no real threat from Patrick Taylor Jr.

With these odds being so high, this is one of those games where it’s worth a small play on one of the other 49ers RBs to score, especially if this game gets out of hand one way or the other in the fourth quarter.

Greg Zuerlein Over 1.5 Field Goals (-105) | Rolfe

We saw Greg Zuerlein average just over two field goals per game in 2024, and the bump in the level of the Jets’ offense with Rodgers under center should help him.

Normally, the improved offense could go either way, with Rodgers being more likely to score a touchdown on a drive than the aforementioned Wilson. However, against a good defense like the 49ers, there is every chance we see the Jets settling for field goals.
