‘Don’t Think He’ll Bite Me’ — Yankees Manager Reacts After Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s Bizarre Video Goes Viral

The New York Yankees have a few interesting players on their roster, not only because of their baseball ability but also because of their personalities. Jazz Chisholm Jr. seems to take a different approach to the game than his peers, and there is a viral video of Chisholm biting his coach, Pat Roessler.

Chisholm has been in the news plenty to begin the season due to the torpedo bats — and now this — but Yankees manager Aaron Boone is not worried about Chisholm biting him.

Aaron Boone Not Concerned Over Jazz Chisholm Jr. Biting

Boone joined the “Talkin’ Yanks” podcast to discuss the video of Chisholm biting his coach. Yet, Boone laughed it off and said, “I didn’t know about it, kinda funny.”

When asked if he is free from the biting, Boone continued, “I don’t think he’ll start biting me.”

There seems to be no further explanation behind this, but the Yankees coaches will likely put up with it as long as they win. Chisholm has struggled to hit at an average rate this season, batting only .175, but he does have six home runs, which is tied for second in baseball. Regardless, Chisholm is not getting on base nearly enough as he only has four walks to 24 strikeouts, with an OBP of .246.

The Yankees have one of the best players in baseball, outfielder Aaron Judge. He is the best power hitter in the sport and one of the most feared players. But he cannot do it alone. The Yankees need more from their supporting cast to return to the World Series this season. The loss of Juan Soto was substantial, as he gave the Yankees another star player. Now, they have a group of role players looking to fill that void.

Chisholm is one player the Yankees will be counting on. A former All-Star, he has struggled to live up to the hype for most of his career. The short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium should do wonders for Chisholm and his swing. His career high in home runs is 24, which he set last year. But he is already off to a great start to surpass that number.

Other players to watch are Cody Bellinger, Ben Rice, and Jasson Domínguez. Each can become a quality producer in the Yankees lineup and take some pressure off Judge. It will be intriguing to see if the Yankees have enough offense to remain contenders this season.
