Los Angeles Dodgers star backstop Will Smith has been happily married to his longtime girlfriend, Cara Martinell, for over four years. The happy couple crossed paths for the first time at the University of Louisville’s campus grounds. Smith played college baseball with the Louisville Cardinals while she pursued her bachelor’s degree in teaching.
Together, the loving duo are proud parents to two girls: Charlotte Ann Smith, who was born on October 15, 2022, and Layton Elizabeth, born two years later on October 22, 2024. The Smiths have happily resided in LA since the catcher made his professional MLB debut with the Dodgers in 2019.
The couple also runs the Catching Hope Foundation, which helps underprivileged kids become self-sufficient financially and educationally. She is one of the biggest supporters of Smith’s endeavors on and off the field and is often found spectating Dodgers games inside various ballparks alongside both her daughters.

Cara Smith Shared Sweet Moments Shared Between Her Daughter and Tommy Edman’s Son
On Monday, Smith’s wife shared some delightful highlights from the fun family trip to Kansas City, MO, on the sidelines of the defending champions taking on the Kansas City Royals in a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium over the weekend. Her elder daughter shared sweet moments in the images with Dodgers infielder Tommy Edman’s son, Eli.
Both kids could be seen watching the game at the stadium and sitting adjacent to each other for a gleeful picture. Smith’s wife captioned one of those images as, “So many memories made with our baseball buddies this past week.”

The incumbent World Series champions triumphed over the Royals in the three-game regular season series, which ended on Sunday. It was all play in the series finale on Sunday, as the series was split 1-1 after the first two games. The Dodgers dug in deep, and the visitors’ well-rounded effort helped them win the series finale 5-1. Smith had hit a solo home run in the series finale against the Royals.
