Trevor Bauer has undoubtedly been one of the most controversial superstars of the game over the past decade and a half. The 34-year-old pitcher has not played in the major leagues since 2021 following allegations of sexual assault.
The Los Angeles Dodgers placed him on administrative leave in the aftermath before he served a 194-game suspension. Bauer was later released by the team while he reached a legal settlement agreement in the case in 2023.

Trevor Bauer Wins Legal Battle Against Accuser Lindsey Hill for Violation of Settlement Agreement
On Monday, Bauer scored a major victory when a Los Angeles Superior Court ruled in his favor for a breach of settlement terms. It ordered his accuser, Lindsey Hill, to pay him $309,832.02 after failing to respond to a lawsuit filed by the former Dodgers pitcher.

The Pasadena Police Department had placed Bauer under investigation following sexual assault allegations from Hill in June 2021. However, no criminal charges were filed against him due to a lack of evidence. Bauer then sued Hill for defamation, and she responded with counterclaims of sexual assault and battery.
Both parties ultimately reached an agreement, with neither side admitting to any wrongdoing, and no money was exchanged between them. In October 2024, Bauer launched a new lawsuit against Hill, citing a breach of settlement terms. She claimed on social media that the ex-Dodgers superstar had “handed back an insurance sum to me that was meant for him in order for me to drop my countersuit.”
Overall, Bauer made 22 claims of alleged violations of the settlement that forbade Hill from mentioning that he or his representatives had paid any compensation money for the settlement. As per the agreement, a violation would cost $10,000 each.
Besides the $220,000 in damages for the violations, Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Daniel Crowley included attorney fees, court costs, and accrued interest as well. This brought the settlement to over $300,000. Hill did not contest the charges. In February, she told Bauer’s attorneys that they did not have a strong enough case before contesting the amount sought in attorney’s fees two months later.
The court had initially told Bauer’s attorneys that their evidence was insufficient. As Hill never responded to the lawsuit, the judge ruled in his favor by default and ordered her to pay the full amount in damages.
The Dodgers had signed Bauer to a three-year, $103 million deal in 2021, after he won the National League Cy Young the previous year. No major league team has approached him since the allegations, although he had served out his suspension back in 2023.
During his ongoing exile from MLB, Bauer has played professionally in Japan and Mexico over the past couple of years. He is currently enjoying his second stint with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of the NPB.
