Jackson Caglianone Drops Royal Reaction To Roman Anthony’s Announcement

A few days ago, Anthony made a post on Instagram with the caption, “Dream come true. Thankful for all the support along the way. Go Sox.” To this, Caglianone made a play on Anthony’s first name and wrote, “Glorious Roman Empire.” This interaction between the young baseball stars was a treat for the fans to witness.

One fan replied to Caglianone’s comment, saying, “You and Roman making 30 all-stars combined,” while another added, “Based Jac.” Some users didn’t let go of the opportunity of poking a jab at the players, as one commenter wrote, “glorious glaze,” making fun of the praise that Caglianone showed towards Roman.

Anthony’s call-up was a moment Red Sox fans had been waiting for. After slashing .303/.430/.492 with eight home runs in 58 Triple-A games, the 2022 second-round pick proved he was ready for the big leagues, and his debut didn’t disappoint.

In his first two games, Anthony showcased his top-of-the-line bat speed, ripping a 111.2 mph double for his first career hit, an RBI that drove in two runs. Anthony’s journey from a high school “tweener” to MLB’s No. 1 prospect shows how much commitment he has towards his craft.

Initially, Anthony was doubted for his somewhat lackluster defensive skill; however, with sheer willpower, he transformed into a power-hitting outfielder with a .430 on-base percentage in Triple-A. His 497-foot grand slam earlier this season, the longest in professional baseball, turned all the attention towards him.

On the other hand, Caglianone is also no stranger to the hype and understands the weight of a debut. The Royals’ No. 10 prospect, selected sixth overall in 2024, made his MLB entrance on June 3, 2025, against the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite going 0-for-5 in his first game, he rebounded with a four-hit performance against the Chicago White Sox on June 8, joining Bo Jackson as the only Royals to achieve the feat within their first six games.

In the end, Anthony’s “dream come true” and Caglianone’s witty reply show the camaraderie this new generation of stars shares. As the Royals prepare for a June 10 homestand against the Yankees, where Caglianone will make his Kauffman Stadium debut, and Boston eyes a playoff push. These rookies are all set to shape their teams’ futures.
