Paul Skenes and former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne have been a power couple for more than two years now. The highly rated and recognized duo met for the first time at LSU when Skenes had transferred from the Air Force Academy to play D1 baseball with the Tigers, while Dunne was already competing in SEC and NCAA championships with the Tigers’ gymnastics program.
Livvy is one of the biggest supporters of Skenes’ endeavors on and off the diamond. Since he made his MLB debut last year, Dunne has been present inside the different stadiums all across America to witness him pitch and dominate the proceedings from the mound. In the current MLB campaign, Dunne has already been to Dodger Stadium, Chase Field, and Citi Field, besides PNC Park, to showcase her love and support for the Pittsburgh Pirates ace.

Olivia Dunne Fires Off a Tasty Comment at the Opposition as Paul Skenes Took to the Mound in Detroit
On Thursday, Skenes made the 16th start of his 2025 MLB campaign at Comerica Park in Detroit. After game 2 of the three-game series between the Pirates and the Detroit Tigers was postponed, it was all to play for between the NL Central rivals in the split doubleheader on Thursday. Skenes started in game 2 of that doubleheader and was utterly dominant from the onset of the contest.
During the game, Dunne shared an image of Skenes pitching from the mound on X.com and captioned the post as, “Sorry… not my type of tiger.” The fiery and funny comment was made in a good connotation as Dunne drew parallels between the names of her alma mater and the MLB ballclub since they both are named the Tigers.

Skenes pitched for six solid innings in the game against the Tigers, giving up two earned runs on three hits, walking five, and striking out a whopping nine batters to help his team win one of the games of the doubleheader and the series. The final scoreline in favor of the visitors read 8-4.
The 2024 NL ROY didn’t register a conclusive result on Thursday despite his team winning the contest. He is still 4-6 for the campaign, with a 1.85 ERA, 106 strikeouts, and 0.88 WHIP. The 23-year-old looks set on course to become an All-Star for a second year running, and who knows, he might surprise the baseball fraternity with the NL Cy Young award this year.
Skenes Will Make His Next Start in Milwaukee
Skenes will be making his next start of the current MLB campaign in the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field on June 25. This will be his 17th start of the 2025 season, and probably after that he will be making two more starts before the league breaks for the All-Star week in July.
Expect Skenes, who is searching for that elusive fifth win this season, to dominate the proceedings from the onset against the Brewers on Wednesday.
