Paul Skenes‘ girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, traveled to Omaha, NE, to showcase her love and support for the LSU Tigers during the NCAA championship of D1 baseball. The Tigers defeated the UCLA Bruins on June 17 and then registered a slender win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday to advance to the Men’s College World Series championship, where they will be taking on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers over the weekend.
The Pittsburgh Pirates had joined Dunne in Omaha on Monday, which was an off day for the 2024 NL ROY. He is a former Tigers ballplayer and had successfully led the program to the College World Series honors in 2023. While it is all about baseball in Omaha, NE, this time of the year, Dunne took a little detour and shot a hilarious video reviewing food at a local cafe in the downtown area.

Paul Skenes’ Girlfriend Olivia Dunne Shoots a Food Review in Omaha, NE
Dunne linked up with former LSU Tigers pitcher Will Hellmers for a tasty food review at Rally Coffee in downtown Omaha ahead of the Tigers vs. Razorbacks game. The food review video began with Hellmers introducing Dunne and explaining the dishes before them.
During the explanation, Hellmers took a hilarious shot at Dunne and said, “She’s got her avocado toast and her spinach drink.” With a smile on her face, the former LSU gymnast replied, “Some would call it matcha.” Then the duo commenced with eating and rating the food items, and finally rallied behind the Tigers ahead of their game on Wednesday.

While Dunne is enjoying her time in Omaha cheering for the Tigers as they make a run towards the eighth championship title in franchise history, Skenes is busy preparing for his next big league start in Detroit.
Paul Skenes to Start the Second Game of the Doubleheader in Detroit
Game 2 between the Pirates and the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Wednesday was postponed due to inclement weather. The game was shifted to Thursday, which is now going to be a split doubleheader in Detroit. Skenes was scheduled to make his next start in the series finale against the Tigers, and it will go as planned, provided the weather conditions are favorable for the game day on Thursday.
Skenes is 1-1 in his last five starts and has a 4-6 overall record through 15 starts this campaign. He has a 0.85 WHIP, with 97 strikeouts and a 1.78 ERA. The 23-year-old has largely continued his positive form from last year in the current campaign. Skenes is on course to become a two-time All-Star and feature in the Midsummer Classic for the NL All-Star for a second year running.
