Francisco Lindor’s Sweet Mid-game Gesture to His Family at Their First Mets Game of the Season Melts Hearts

New York Mets star Francisco Lindor has been happily married to his longtime girlfriend, Katia Lindor, since December 16, 2021. The couple has created a happy family together, which includes their three kids: two daughters and a recently born son. Their daughters are named Kalina Zoe and Amapola Chloe, who were born on November 4, 2020, and June 17, 2023, respectively, while their son, whom they named Koa Amani, was born on March 30.

Together, the Lindors reside in Queens, New York, where Francisco has been playing professional baseball with the Mets since 2021. Since embracing motherhood for the third time with the star shortstop, Katia had been unable to spectate any of the Mets’ games at Citi Field.

She, alongside her three kids, cheered for Lindor while watching the games on the television set at home. But now she had finally made it to Citi Field in person for the first time this season to watch and cheer for Lindor during the Mets series opener against the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.

Francisco Lindor Made a Sweet Gesture Towards His Family at the Series Opener Against the Cubs

Lindor registered a base hit during the series opener against the Cubs on Friday night. As he reached first base, Lindor did his usual base hit celebration towards the home team dugout and their bullpen. But this time it wasn’t just his teammates that he acknowledged; the SS was quick to look up in the stands and wave to his family, who had made their first appearance at Citi Field in person since last year.

Katia had earlier shared multiple Instagram stories on Friday that highlighted her first game day experience at Citi Field since welcoming little Koa, alongside showcasing her fit check for the game and sharing some praiseworthy posts for her husband, as he registered a well-rounded performance against the Cubs in the series opener.

This was baby Koa’s first game day experience at Citi Field, and he wore a sweet jumper with Lindor written on it to showcase unwavering support for his father. The Mets came out on top handsomely in game 1 of the three-game series against the Cubs on Friday night. They won the contest by a scoreline of 7-2.

Lindor was the star of the show, who impressed in both departments of the game. He started the proceedings with yet another leadoff home run, displayed amazing defense in the field, which even involved a barehand stop and throw-out at first base, and finished the night with three hits off five at-bats.

Lindor has been highly consistent this season. He has compiled a .297 batting average, with eight home runs, 25 RBIs, and an .850 OPS in 38 games so far this campaign. The Mets are 25-14 for the season and currently sit atop the NL East standings, 2.5 games ahead of the second-place Philadelphia Phillies.
