After missing last year’s postseason due to injury, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow made only five starts this year before landing back on the injured list.
The thirty-one-year-old was initially placed on the 15-day injured list (IL) on April 28 due to discomfort in his right shoulder after lasting just one inning in his April 27 start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Dodgers then transferred him to the 60-day IL on June 3.
However, with the trade deadline looming, Dodger fans got some encouraging updates on the status of his injury.
Dave Roberts Delivers Some Good News Regarding Tyler Glasnow
Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reported that Glasnow is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday, June 10, in Los Angeles.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said about Glasnow, “He’s doing really well. Very excited and anxious to start facing some hitters. So that’s coming too.”

Glasnow, who signed a five-year, $136.5 million contract, would strengthen the Dodgers’ rotation, which has been tainted by injuries. In his first season with the Dodgers in 2024, Glasnow recorded a career-high 168 strikeouts and was selected to his first career All-Star team.
This season, Los Angeles was predicted to have five aces in their rotation. Glasnow is among the four of them who are out due to injuries, though. The team will keep easing him back into the rotation, with the goal of Glasnow making his postseason debut with the Dodgers in October.
Reinforcements on the Way for the Dodgers on the Mound
Another pitcher who is on track to make significant progress from his injury is Blake Snell.
Roberts claims that Snell, who is presently on the 60-day IL because of shoulder irritation, conducted a “touch and feel” session off the mound over the weekend. Additionally, on Tuesday, the former two-time Cy Young champion will throw a bullpen session.
Snell is getting closer to returning to the mound, though no official return date has been set. In two starts before his shoulder injury, he allowed two earned runs but struggled with control, issuing eight walks over nine innings.
With a 40–27 record, the Los Angeles Dodgers remain atop the National League West, but a concerning wave of injuries, especially to their pitching staff, has begun to raise questions about the team’s stability.

The team’s announcement over the weekend that right-hander Tony Gonsolin had been sidelined due to elbow pain was the most recent setback. At the time of his injury, Gonsolin was among 14 pitchers on the injured list.
