Regarding Dodger Stadium, something extra kicks in for Christian Walker. The Houston Astros slugger is part of history, one that a Dodgers player has yet to accomplish. With his home run in the Astros’ 18-1 beating of LA, Walker will go down in the books as he looks to continue his historic streak in the second game of the series on July 5.

Walker Has Homered in Six Straight Games at Dodger Stadium
Walker drove in four of the Astros’ 18 runs in the most lopsided victory in the history of Dodger Stadium. Not just that, but his home run marked at least one for Walker in six consecutive games at that venue, as he looks to make even more history on July 5.
Christian Walker is the first player ever to homer in 6 straight games at Dodger Stadium. No Dodgers player ever has. https://t.co/IvEPwrMefH

Sarah Langs reported that if Walker were to homer, he would break the longest home run streak record by a player on the road against a specific team. The Dodgers will have Shohei Ohtani start as the Dodgers and Astros are set for a primetime game on FOX. It will be Ohtani’s fourth start of the season, but he’s yet to throw for more than two innings. Walker will likely see a few different pitchers as he looks to make history.
Regardless, his name is already etched in stone. Dodger Stadium is one of the most iconic venues in sports, with no LA player ever able to hit a home run in six consecutive games at the ballpark. It’s much easier for a player to do it on the road, as the games are more spread out, but his record will likely stand the test of time for quite a while.
Now sporting a four-game hitting streak, Walker has increased his batting average from .213 to .231 in that span. His four-hit performance certainly helped, as he’s contributed six RBIs in the team’s four games so far in July. April stands as Walker’s worst month of the season, as he increased his .209 average to .223 in May. He dipped slightly in June, falling to .221, while his OPS did increase from .627 to .646.
Lately, Houston has been on an absolute tear. They were one run shy of sweeping the Colorado Rockies, but they have still won 17 of their last 22. After dropping two of three to the Tampa Bay Rays on May 19-21, the Astros have won 10 of their 12 series. They haven’t lost a series, as their other two resulted in four-game splits to the Athletics and Rays. Their 17-run win over the Dodgers snapped the team’s four-game winning streak.
